They are indeed! I am so grateful for that fact. I really did not want to take any loans out for my MFA program. Y'all be sleeping on UCI, but they have an amazing cohort of faculty, facilities, and are a fully funded 3 year program! I highly encourage others to apply to UCI if you anyone is apply to MFA programs next year!

I am so excited to announce that I was accepted into UCI Tuesday evening! Some of you might know I was originally waitlisted, but I received an email that funding has changed and they were able to add another spot for their incoming cohort! I still cannot believe this is real! Look forward to seeing some of y’all in California!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has heard from UCI or USC?

Hey, if you don't mind me asking how old you are? If I get accepted for the upcoming cycle I will be turning 24. The age discrepancy is definitely something that is considered. My mentor and undergrad professor was actually on the MFA committee at BU, so I got a lot of valuable advise from them. They told me it is VERY rare for them to accept you into an MFA program right out of undergrad. I actually took a year off before I applied because it makes you more marketable. I know it sicks, that just how the game is played. I am sorry that they brought it up during your interview, that is very unprofessional! Another thing to they consider is not only your age, but your maturity level during the interview... meaning, you may be one of the youngest candidates but that does not automatically disqualify you. It is all about how you answer their questions. They are not looking for perfection. Remember that in your interview... striving for perfection makes you seem immature. Acknowledge that you might not know all of the answers, but that is why you are pursuing an MFA.... They love hearing things like that! Let me know if there is anything else I can help with! What are you looking to know? I know that after the MFA walkout, they restructured their program and hired different faculty. From what I hear they are a very queer, concept oriented program! I applied in January, and I am currently awaiting a decision!

Who did you interview with, because they have an interdisciplinary program? There are only emphasis of concentration that you choose once you are admitted. Who told you that UCI would be putting our updates the 1st week of March? I am just curious!

I am glad I am not the only one that is receiving radio silence from USC! That is very reassuring. I wonder if they started sending out first round rejections! who knows though!

To anyone interviewing with BU, I have great insight of the program. I graduated from BU with a BFA in sculpture. I worked with the faculty for years and they are wonderful! David was actually one of my references for this application cycle!
