  1. Would also greatly appreciate a template or any other resources on how to reach out/frame the request and when it is best to reach out (right away? A few days before april 15th? both?)
  2. Congrats to the admitted folks! An amazing achievement especially in a tough year like this
  3. Based off previous years threads it seems like (unsurprisingly) this year was a lot worse in terms of rejections and waitlisting
  4. Looks like us waitlisters got a long wait ahead of us ?
  5. Not to be morbid but us waitlisters probably won't make it right? I doubt anyone would give up their hard won seat in this tough cycle
  6. Also waitlisted, absolutely devastated. would also like to hear folks thoughts but I assume that we have to hope for a chance to pay sticker price at this point ugh
  7. Anyone have any info on how easy/likely it is to get a GSI/reader/tutor position and how much tuition remission you get? My ability to go (if accepted) probably will hinge on this.
  8. Out of state with no aid. Generally agree with Twiste. It seems like a lot of the top ranked state schools aren't great with financial aid for MPPs or MPAs but do have a decent amount of student worker positions that can help a lot. I might be willing to make the leap of faith for my top choice but not for UW.
  9. A couple different reasons, it seems like the ideal academic experience (small class sizes, amazing profs, ability to take electives at other top ranked grad schools at UCB) and grad life style (weather, campus, bay area) also I'm not sure where I want to end up long term so a MPP from a top school like Berkeley gives me a bit of flexibility after I graduate. Excited to hear back (hopefully) this week!
  10. Same here, UCB is my dream school but I figure if I even get in it'll likely be without aid so it will certainly be a tough call given there is no guarantee of getting a student worker position
  11. Anyone out of state considering going even if they don't end up getting financial aid? Though it is a bit daunting it seems doable at GSPP compared to other top tier programs given the in state tuition the second year and the large amount of university employment positions that offer tuition remission.
  12. Got the email the other day accepted but with zero funding which is essentially a rejection for an out of state student like myself. Pretty depressing. I like UW and I guess I should be happy I got admitted but it would be very hard to justify paying sticker price/betting on getting a ta position in my second year. Perhaps I'd pay sticker for UCB or Michigan but UW just doesn't seem worth it. Somewhat surprised given I had strong gpa and work experience but I guess it's a tough year.
