  1. So some background information, I finally decided to take the leap and go for a doctorate 4 years after my Masters. I really wanted to experience something new so I looked at programs on the west coast, ultimately deciding on some UC programs. I also applied to a program near my home and I had a contact over at Purdue that reached out so I put my hat in there too. I was then accepted into Purdue and my home program back in December and was invited to interviews for the UC programs. Fast forward to now, I haven't heard anything from the UC programs ever since their interviews and searching the main page results, I see that there have been acceptances already. It has been roughly 2-3 weeks since those results so I fear the worst that they're just waiting to send out rejections. I want to contact their departments directly to inquire my status but I don't know if it's better to receive the rejection directly. Which brings it to my main point. I've been admitted with full funding to the Chemistry program at Purdue and have prospects in their Analytical Division. The research does pique my interests but I do still have some reservations. I become less optimistic as more days pass with no word from the other programs and this offer becomes more tempting. Should I accept this offer now or should I wait a little longer?
  2. The anxiety is pretty bad, haven't gotten a goods nights sleep since seeing that someone confirmed receiving an acceptance to my top program (haven't gotten a rejection email so one can hope I'm on the waitlist). I can't will myself to contact them directly either without feeling/seeming desperate. At least I have my safety programs but the feeling of inadequacy and imposter syndrome really weighs on my mental state right now.
  3. Is it safe to assume I'm waitlisted at this point for the UC programs? I haven't gotten word back from them since attending their interview/recruitment events. I guess the silver lining is no rejection emails? UCLA really caught my eye but I'm really nervous to inquire ?
