@All: I am an international student. I would like to know the reputation of UCLA engineering program as compared to UMich and UCSD esp. from those who are in the US. I am thinking of going to UCLA over UMich and UCSD and wonder if this is the correct call.

Hello guys, I am gonna attend UCLA Electrical Engg. dept. from fall 2011. EE dept. coordinator has said that i-20 will be available in late May.

UMich is obviously more prestigious. Btw what is ur specialization?

Hi guys, All the decisions are out for me. Admits: UCLA, UCSD, UMich Rejects: Stanford, UT Austin, Gatech, Purdue, UMCP. Need your suggestion in choosing the best destination for EE (communications and networking)

Can anybody throw some more light on the reputation of EE departments at these universities? How is internship and job opportunities scenario? I got reject from Gatech. So I am left with UCLA and UMich and waiting for UCSD decision.

@dudulche : Thanks for the reply. I am in 2 minds because of the rankings and the overall reputation of the schools is exactly the opposite. I am also looking at the job prospects in case i decide to quit after MS.

Hi, I have been admitted to these schools for MS. Currently facing the burning issue of selecting the better one. Although Gatech and UCSD decisions are yet to come, I'll most probably going to Umich or UCLA. Right now inclined more towards Umich. I am interested in Research and might go for PhD after MS. Need help in making the right choice.

I called them up twice. No one picked up. Then I sent an email I have completed application to MS program in early November. Some of my friends who applied much later have already received the decision.Can you please inform me whether any decision has been made on my application? Is there anything missing in my file? The reply was Thank you for submitting an application for graduate study in our department. Due to the large volume of incoming mail we receive every day, we are unable to confirm receipt of your submitted documents or test scores (GRE and TOEFL). As your application is prepared for review, we will contact you immediately, via email, if you are missing any materials. We appreciate your patience. Applicants will be notified by the second week in March of admission decisions. This is standard reply. No hint.

Have they sent out all the admits? 2nd wave of admits was around 17-18 Feb. I applied for Masters in EE. Should I expect a reject now? Any idea, what is the intake for masters?

My profile is: Undergrad coll: College of Engineering Pune (top 25 col in India.) Undergrad CGPA: 9.32/10 (Rank 1, I have won the gold medal) Major: Electronics and Telecommunication GRE: 1440 (800+640), AWM: 4 Co authored a national level paper in signal processing Reviewed IEEE transaction Received best project award in our institute.
