  1. So I've heard of NSU's association with the Amen clinic on this thread and on Student Doctor Network. I can't find anything on google besides these forums that say there's a connection between the two. I'm not doubting you, but where can I find that there is a connection? Where can I find information about captive internships?
  2. Hi, I am looking for an online community for PsyD students and applicants to PsyD programs. I see that there have been groups established for PhD students and am looking for people with more similar career/professional interests to myself with knowledge specifically for PsyD programs. Thanks!
  3. Hi, I am applying to mostly PsyD programs and have some times scheduled to meet with faculty of PsyD programs to discuss their research. What are some questions that you have found super helpful or engaging in your conversations with potential PIs-- especially before the interview day? I'd also like to receive any input from those in PhD programs. Thanks
  4. Hi, I have heard very mixed things about Nova Southeastern's PsyD program. Please share what you know-- the good, the bad, etc
  5. For those who are reapplying to doctorate and or masters programs, did you take any years in between or did you reapply in consecutive years?
  6. Hi! I am applying this cycle too! Feel free to DM me. I'd love to set up a group chat!
  7. Hi everyone, I'm hoping we can post what doctorate programs waived the GRE for the upcoming application cycle. If you know of any, please post them. Thanks!
  8. They're saying that if I want to be on the wait list, I need to agree that if I was accepted that I would be contracted to pay the tuition deposit. Sort of like early decision in college, like if you get in, you have to go. Its about $500 so not much in the grand scheme of things, but my other option is to reapply next year or switch fields.
  9. I got waitlisted at my PsyD program. They said that to officially be on the waitlist, I need to agree to pay the tuition deposit if I were to be accepted. Has anyone heard of this type of practice? I know I don't have to pay unless accepted and that I don't necessarily have to go, but something doesn't sit right with me on this.
  10. Congratulations!! I interviewed in late Feb and just heard back that I am on the wait list. No pressure or anything to decide. I was just trying to figure out when decisions came out compared to when I found out. Good luck with your decision!
  11. Hey! I got into this program when I originally applied to the doctorate. I originally applied to the school-clinical psyd program because I know I either want to work in assessments with a neurodevelopmental population or as a school psychologist. The masters program seems to be a newer program and I don't know much about it.
  12. Did you get into Kean? When did you interview and when did you hear back? Did they offer any money or GA position?
  13. I only applied to PsyD programs. I got deferred from a few, accepted into Yeshiva's LMHC program after interviewing for the doctorate, and was wait listed at a PsyD program. Yeshiva was originally my top choice but it would be incredibly expensive to attend, especially if I want to internally apply to the PsyD program which would mean 6 years of tuition and that's assuming I get into the program. I would also have to move to the city which would add up quickly. I was waitlisted for Kean's PsyD program. I did interview, unlike some other posters on the results page. I'm not too sure I am going to get in and after being wait listed, I doubt I am going to get any funding or GA positions. Pursuing a doctorate in psychology has been a dream for a long time. I hate the idea of waiting to reapply again. I've already taken a few gap years working in the field, have research experience and would like to start making money (and yes, I know that this would come after completing a program and I am ok with that ) but MH jobs with a college degree are low pay high burnout places and I don't want to do another year of that. I am starting to consider a school psych degree or dropping this whole helping field ambition and entering the business world... which has perks of not taking out loans and being able to have a social life. Can anyone relate?
  14. Hi, I would love to talk with anyone about where they are in their thought process for this year and what their plans are (ie taking an offer, reapplying next year, etc). If anyone wants to talk with someone in the same boat or start a thread, please message me or comment below: This could also be a thread for people who have come this far in the application process and are suddenly starting to question everything.
  15. I'm surprised. I would have thought that Kean would have been under Yeshiva. What about Kean is better?
  16. Can someone tell me what the overall consensus is of these schools: - Yeshiva School-Clinical PsyD - Pace School-Clinical PsyD - Kean School-Clinical PsyD -Rutgers Clinical OR School PsyD
  17. I would appreciate any thoughts or recommendations: A school I applied for had their interviews in mid-late March and said I should expect to hear back in early April. I still haven't heard back, however I am expecting to get in. This would be my only Psy.D. acceptance for the year but I am worried about having to make a decision in about a week's time. To me, this is a red flag that it has taken this school so long to offer any decisions. Red flag as in that if they treat their applicants like this, how do they treat their students? A current student told me that they were given less than a week to decide last year. I've heard mixed reviews about this program which also has me worried. I was offered acceptance into a master's program at another school where I originally applied to their Psy.D. program. I was offered to attend a semester and was told that I would be guaranteed an interview at at-least 1 of their PsyD programs the following year. This was my top school but the doctorate was a combined school-clinical program (I think I prefer school psych) and the masters is only for MH counseling. Also, I have great work and research experience. An average GPA. But terrible GRE scores so I really lucked out with the GRE being waived this year. So what should I do? Is anyone in a similar boat?

This school claims to be a great competitive program, but they are not as established with alumni or internship/externship sites compared to other programs in the area.
