Currently in the process of filling out an application to UCSD and it includes this section: "Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at any educational institution you have attended since the completion of high school (or the international equivalent) to the present, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in your probation, suspension, removal, dismissal or expulsion from the institution? If yes, please explain." Now, this is pretty silly all thing's considered and not really (I assume) what they're screening for, but as a sophomore in college (over half a decade ago at this point) I was briefly placed on disciplinary probation after being caught during a massive bust of students using fake IDs to get into nearby bars. I went to a Catholic university and our public safety officers basically teamed up with local PD and ~200 students ended up on probation. I was off probation within a month after writing some ~reflective essays~ about how my actions violated Jesuit values, but I would assume it still shows somewhere on my record. Anyway... do ya'll think disclosing this could impact me in anyway? I suppose the flip-side of this question is, could NOT disclosing have negative consequences? It just feels sort of ridiculous to explain away this goofy, obviously-illegal-yet-very-common thing I did as a 19 year old on a graduate application!
