  1. I shouldn't have said that. Rutgers is great, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and definitely feel I received an excellent education. Its just a big state school and comes with a bit of disorganization and some communication issues, such as not sending me a rejection letter two months ago. But yeah, I wasn't making a comment on the quality of the school, and their public health programs are great and there are a bunch of research centers on campus that are health oriented and it'll be great if you end up there! I'm also just a bit of a curmudgeon.
  2. I am very happy to hear things worked out-congrats!!
  3. So this is not the same thing at all, and I can only imagine how frustrated you are. I'm more just jumping on the message to check spam folders. When I applied for my MPH I was waiting on two schools and it was getting really close to the deadline to accept and then I randomly checked my spam and the letters were in there for like two months. So basically important stuff somehow ends up there. Did you contact them? I'm sorry that happened, that cannot feel good. I'd say it happens but I hate when people say that because its like "I know it happens it just happened to me do you have anything useful to say? " So, with this long of a post unnecessary, however you are feeling/felt, I am here to validate that.
  4. So I applied to Rutgers' Sociology PhD program for Fall 2022 and they never sent an email or letter but I happened to check the application portal and the answer was there and this was about a month ago. I went there for undergrad, not sending an email or letter is pretty "Rutgers." But yeah I don't know if that helps and I didn't apply to the SPH so it could be an entirely different application.
  5. Hey there-since you said you're unsure of your interests (which is fine, I didn't mean that to judge), I think it is important to consider the location of the school with regards to the quantity and quality of applicable opportunities (i.e., internships, part-time work during the school year, summer, etc.). I'll be honest, I don't know much about this at UNC and while I imagine Berkeley has more I've never been to California tbh and don't actually know.. But just a suggestion to think about and factor into our decision making, if you so choose. I also don't know much about international student visas and whether or not they restrict taking advantage of anything I just suggested you think about.
