  1. One big Research Triangle party ? Congratulations!
  2. There is a very good chance that I'll accept, I'm just holding out on any possible offers from places a bit closer to family in the Northeast. But in any case, high five!
  3. Guess they were quite thrilled to have me. I received an offer of admission today. Stats, FWIW: Undergrad GPA: 3.25, Masters GPA: 3.75 (WES assessment, though they looked at my actual transcripts from my country, which is a scale of 1 to 5, 1 highest) 5+ first author publications in local journal, 2 co-author publications in mid-tier international journal 10-year research and practice experience Funding is guaranteed for the whole 5 years (with a fairly generous first year stipend) but they encourage you to apply for scholarships/grants, which I am happy to do anyway. I will wait for results from the other institutions, but definitely excited with this offer. Rooting for everyone here! Looking forward to your success stories.
  4. That's good to hear ?
  5. The better news for you is you already have an acceptance! Also applied to the U, and I did not receive anything either. Just emailed them, and awaiting their response. Rooting for you.
  6. Hi! I've heard good things about WashU and I applied to the Brown School for this cycle. Their admissions director is such a joy to chat with, but haven't received similarly warm feedback (if at all) from their doctoral programs coordinator. Keeping fingers crossed.
  7. A bit vibing from receiving a formal rejection from UCLA's HPM PhD program. One of the most emotionally invested applications I did, and the most expensive. Congratulations to those who made it.
  8. Congratulations! I applied to the Methods concentration too; I remain hopeful for an invite but I'm rooting for you!
  9. Hi, haven't heard from them either ?
  10. Congratulations to all who have received invites for interviews to Brown HSR, BU HSR and GWU Health Policy PhDs! Rooting for you all.
  11. Thanks ScholarlyBaddie for being such a goodie ?
  12. Hi, sorry I only logged in just now. I have no idea, but if anything, you're the third person here on GC who mentioned being in the interview phase for the Duke Pop Health PhD program. During the interview I was told that final decisions might come out mid-February. I'll leave it up to chance at this point; as I said, I didn't feel too thrilled with the interview, though it might just be me vibing about the whole thing. Hoping we all end up where we can do our best work!
  13. Just finished an interview with Duke Pop Health. Not very thrilled with how I did and I wouldn't be surprised to be rejected. Very basic questions (but the basic ones are the more difficult ones, aren't they). Twitter threads on PhD interviews were helpful in my preparation, but you can't be prepared enough I guess. One down, a lot of waiting to go. All the best to everyone. We got this.
  14. Congratulations!!!
  15. Hi. I'm an international (from the Philippines) watching this thread. I applied to 16 programs (PhD in Health Policy or Health Services Research) and I'm thinking of submitting 3 more for the Jan 15th deadline. I don't have a very impressive GPA and GRE but I hope they consider my public health experience. Haven't heard from any of the programs I applied to (except some holiday greetings). Good luck to all of us!
