  1. Updating this, after receiving my rejection from Harvard Health Policy (which I expected). Not too sad as I just gave it a try. The waiting game is almost over. Hope you all get your dream acceptance!
  2. Hi, anyone on here attending the universities in the Triangle area who'd be interested to hang out with like-minded PhD students from different fields, and meet up once in a while? It'll be nice for work/life balance. We can explore the Triangle, visit cultural sites, hike, or study together. If you're interested, please send a PM!

  4. I received a rejection from Vanderbilt's Health Policy PhD program. Congratulations to those who made it. Recap thus far, for posterity (all are PhD programs): 2 Acceptances: Duke PHS, GW HP 1 Waitlist: Brandeis SP(H) 8 Rejections: Vanderbilt HP, Brown HSR, Minnesota HSRPA, Boston HSR, WashU PHS, JHU (IH and HSR), UCLA HPM 3 Withdrawn after Interview Invite: Rochester HSR, VCU HSR, Iowa HSR 6 Pending: Harvard HP, Ohio State HP, Cornell PAM, UNC HPM, Drexel HSR, NYU PHPM This was a costly cycle for me but it's worth it! Wishing everyone the best.
  5. Both are amazing programs. Congratulations!
  6. Hi, I received a rejection a few days ago. If you applied and you haven't heard from them, you might still be in the running.
  7. Just received a rejection from the PhD in International Health (Health Systems) program at JHU. Hope anyone from the forum made it!
  8. Waitlisted from the Brandeis PhD in Social Policy (Health Policy concentration). I will decline, but I'm wondering if anyone here applied. Best of luck to all.
  9. Agree wholeheartedly with this year's tough cycle. As an international, I was convinced by POIs to apply to as many programs as I can (which was quite expensive), but it was worth it. The feeling of acceptance is priceless, and I hope everyone will have one this cycle. Fingers crossed for everyone here!
  10. Failed to mention as well that I received a rejection from JHSPH's Health Services Research and Policy program late last week.
  11. Hi! Just received an acceptance to GW's Health Policy PhD program. Very grateful for this acceptance, and this was one of my top choices, but did not include funding. As I've already confirmed with another institution, I will decline this offer. I'm hoping anyone waitlisted here will get in!
  12. Hi! I have already declined interviews for the following programs (as I am well-settled with my one acceptance and have already confirmed that I will attend). I hope anyone of you will end up in one or more of them: University of Rochester PhD in Health Services Research University of Iowa PhD in Health Services and Policy Virginia Commonwealth University PhD in Healthcare Research and Policy I also received rejections from Brown University and the University of Minnesota. Best of luck everyone!
  13. *dusting the forum* Hi! Not many people drop by here, so I'll just post links from my own research and probably let me know how "OK" these are: Starting Afresh (especially for Internationals): Duke's International House has great resources (https://studentaffairs.duke.edu/ihouse), I'd think UNC and NC State will have similar services. Housing: As I'm attending Duke, I only checked out these sites: https://www.nearduke.com/housing, https://www.durhamgradhousing.com/. I'm pretty sure there would be similar sites for Chapel Hill and Raleigh. Transportation: The Triangle has a great public transport system, with local and regional buses, as well as those specific to Duke, UNC Chapel Hill and NC State. https://gotriangle.org/. Transloc has a cool interactive site where you see all bus routes plying the region: https://triangle.transloc.com/ If there's any local that would like to give additional information, hope you can drop any tips!
