  1. I was accepted there but chose Queen's in the end because Waterloo is too research heavy for me personally as I'm more of a hands-on/coursework kind of learner, but getting an offer from Waterloo felt pretty awesome ngl! I hope you enjoy it, it's a great program and solid school!
  2. Kingston is lovely! Everyone I've talked to so far has loved it! Thank you, congrats to you as well! See you in September ?
  3. i accepted my queen's offer yesterday! do you think you'll accept?
  4. I hear VIU's program is excellent. It's still quite new but very organized and well put together. The courses look great and they aren't too theoretical which can be the case with a lot of the older programs. I live in BC and they have a really good reputation here. Congrats!
  5. Did anyone attend the Queen's Zoom session with the faculty and cohort today? I unfortunately couldn't make it due to a work conflict.
  6. Yeah I totally feel you, not getting funding makes things so hard especially in these expensive cities. Good luck!! Hope you get some $!
  7. Those accepted at Queen's, has your portal switched yet? Mine still says "application submitted" with nowhere to accept the offer. No official letter yet either. I got emailed a week ago that I'm in. Wondering if I should reach out or if this is typical?
  8. Ooh, this was quite helpful actually. I didn't know their famous co-op programs were mostly an undergrad thing - that's definitely something to consider. It's a tough program to gain intel on because there's not much on their website in terms of student life, which is a really important factor to me because planning is very interactive and requires a lot of group work and collaboration, and I think Queen's is probably the strongest school in Canada for that. I didn't notice it when I read the letter last night but I just saw that I got assigned my top choice supervisor at Waterloo who is doing amazing work in the topic I want to pursue so that's reallyyyy enticing. Aaah it's all so hard haha! Thanks so much!! I found out last night, not by getting an email or notification but by randomly checking my portal and seeing that the status changed and I jumped out of my seat ? I also never got an email that says they're going to start reviewing things so now I'm wondering if my email on file is wrong or something haha. They do mention an orientation week in my acceptance letter but not when it is! The funding is based on a TAship, meaning I have to be a TA to recieve it, so basically a job offer. Which is cool! But I'm not entirely sure if I can handle being a TA while in such an intense program. Fingers crossed for you!!!
  9. Thank you!! No, I didn't zoom with my potential supervisor. They never asked or sent anything about that. I found out about the acceptance because I randomly checked my portal and it was there! There's a letter attached in the Quest portal with funding details and some program basics but nothing about the supervisor. I don't know how to choose ? Manitoba has been my top choice for so long because I'm really into the architectural side of things, and Queen's is an amazing school and their students do a lot of work with local govt. I think Waterloo might be a bit too research intensive for me, but it is still an amazing program and they're great with co-ops. What about you? Is Waterloo your top choice? I really hope you get accepted soon!!! Fingers crossed for you!!
  10. In at Waterloo! $16,000 guaranteed, but it's for a TAship over two years. Anyone else? In so far: Manitoba, Queen's, Waterloo Out: Awaiting: Alberta, Dalhousie
  11. Oh my goodnesssssss! Congrats! Makes me realize just how expensive US programs are ?
  12. Thank you!! I'm not sure either. I also got the guaranteed minimum amount. I'll be going to the Zoom session on the 23rd, hopefully they'll provide more info then!
  13. In at U of Manitoba, my top choice! Feels like a huge weight off my back, I've been so stressed waiting!
  14. Aaahh omggg congrats!! Haven't heard from them yet. "University wide graduate scholarships bring $10-$15,000 per year. First class students are automatically entered into these competitions in March. To be considered for funding: You tick the box "Wish to be considered for Financial Aid" in the on-line application. We do the rest. The larger Queen's awards competitions results are announced in April or early May. There is usually a second round of internal awards in late May, after the results of the big provincial /national competitions." I hope you get good funding! Sounds like they're pretty good with it.
  15. Ha! I just came on here to ask if anyone got one because I heard they just sent them out! CONGRATS ? If you want an idea of how it works, look up videos on UBC Sauder interviews. They use the same format at SCARP.
  16. It was March 4 for interview requests from UBC last year FYI! Edit: made a typo with the date!
  17. Wow lots of results coming in today! Congrats to everyone getting accepted ? Still haven't heard a single thing from any school and my eyes are glued to my email. I even put my phone on sound which I never do, just so I can hear the emails coming in in case I take my eyes off it for a second ? Awaiting: U of Alberta U of Manitoba Queen's Waterloo Dalhousie
