  1. Yeah, I'm really surprised about Queen's not having sent anything out yet since they do rolling admits. Good to know we're all in the same boat at least! Also waiting on Waterloo. I'd love to hear from the Ontario schools first so I can start looking for housing if I get in to anything because the housing market is rough out there and I know I'll need considerable time to find something affordable, and would like to move before the student rush. Fingers crossed for us!
  2. Still haven't heard from a single Canadian school, even the ones that do rolling admits ? I applied late though, about a week before deadlines so I shouldn't be surprised but man, the wait is killing me haha
  3. Oh nice! Good to know funding is offered automatically because I had no time to apply for scholarships and really need to start doing that if I get any admits. Btw I did the UBC SCARP interview last year so if you need any insight on the process please feel free to reach out any time!
  4. Yay! Congrats! Ryerson's program sounds amazing, I was going to apply but didn't realize they had a deadline in December and missed it. What other programs are you waiting for? Speaking of funding, did you apply for any or is it generally allocated with admission?
  5. Congrats to all who've been accepted! Has anyone heard from any Canadian schools yet? I know Ryerson sent out their first round of admits last week (I didn't apply to them, though) which is quite early since most are in March. Any news out of Canada? Anyone here get into Ryerson? ?
  6. Ugh, I don't have the patience to wait til March ? Does anyone know if any Canadian programs admit before March? I think Dalhousie and Queen's do rolling admissions, so might find out before March?
  7. Oh nice, good luck. Yeah, Winnipeg's weather is definitely something to consider. I think it's like -40 there right now or something nuts like that ?
  8. Hey! I really like Manitoba's blended approach of theory and studio courses, and I like that they're in a faculty of architecture so you get a strong design influence. I really like architecture and design and the social/equity/problem solving side of planning so a blended program would be great for me personally. And housing is affordable in Winnipeg!
  9. Thanks for the support! Hope things are going well for you and you managed to get some done! It's rough out here lol. I finished two today!
  10. How are things going for everyone so far? I decided against trying for Columbia. My GPA is fine but as an international student the cost is just too high, plus living in New York... I'm sticking to Canadian programs (domestic student) and narrowed it down to Waterloo, Alberta, Manitoba, Queens, and Dalhousie. Haven't written my SOIs/SOPs yet because I've been in school full time and working full time and it's been brutal. That being said, these are my top choices and I would feel great getting into any of them, with a heavy preference for Queens and Manitoba! I'm pretty stressed about the low acceptance rate of these programs. Only 30 students...
  11. Thanks for this!! Wow, 184 admitted?! The programs in Canada only admit 30-35. Is this common of US programs? I haven't looked into any but Columbia. This is pretty good acceptance rate.
  12. Hey guys! Applying to University of Alberta and University of Manitoba, and considering possibly doing Columbia too. Columbia would only happen if I get financial aid which is unlikely as an international student (I'm Canadian) and don't have six figures to drop on a degree, but it is my dream school. Anyone know how many usually apply to Columbia's Master of Planning and how many they accept per intake? Couldn't find these stats anywhere. As for the two Canadian schools - anyone know how many applicants they get for their planning programs? Anyone applying to any of these?
