I know that USC has already admitted their initial round of students (both critical and creative). However, I suppose there may still be room for movement from either official or unofficial waitlists.

Oh! Meant to say I took myself off the waitlist! And I'm actually accepting my offer from the University of Southern California.

I was taken off the waitlist at UT Austin earlier today, but informed them that I was accepting another offer. Hope this helps someone!

I don't know the specific cohort size for the PhD but I believe that the graduate cohort in general is 15. What is your subfield?

I was waitlisted at Austin several weeks ago and what they told us was that they were very conservative this year with how many people they admitted, and that they had a very small waitlist. So its totally possible that more waitlists and acceptances are coming!

Literature and Culture track- And yeah, I applied to A LOT more programs this year than I did last year. And though I also did a lot of work on my applications between then and now, I definitely feel like more applications paid off.

Hello all- early modernist here! Was waitlisted at USC and Notre Dame last cycle and didn't make it off those lists. This year I've got Acceptances from UC San Diego, University of Connecticut, and University of Washington Waitlists from: USC, UC- Davis, CUNY, UT Austin, WUSTL, and one of those long waitlists from UNC Chapel Hill Some rejections and some schools still pending.

I did! I received it last year as well and the content and timing of the email is markedly different. I think it likely that it was sent to everyone.
