I totally get you! Me and my partner haven’t seen each other for almost two years because of Covid (I am in Europe and he is in the US). I am super anxious that I cannot get an offer and meet him in the US. I wish you can get what you want eventually! Good luck!

Hi! I saw some of you saying rejected by Chicago in signature, but I thought Chicago hasn't released decision?

I haven’t received any email from UT Austin, and My Status still shows in review. Seeing so many people getting accepted or rejected is driving me crazy. Anyone in the same situation?

I just want one acceptance and then I can chill. The waiting and rejected days are starting to mess up my work and sleep sigh

Hi people! I wanna ask a dumb question. What does the "a/w/r/p" mean? I am seeing many of applicants on this forum writing this in description.

I did not receive interview invite from Notre Dame, so I wrote a letter to ask if they could give me some feedback. They told me that this cycle they are only accepting 5 students for their PhD program in PoliSci, one in each of the subfield, because of covid. I am not sure this is the case for all programs but I am desperate.

@Avocado_town I applied to UT Austin too. Did you get an interview? I heard nothing from them, but I think someone posted in the results that they got interview.

@OrzBear @EstherBritoAbrio Same here! I applied to Duke, but heard nothing from them so far. Also, since I did not received an invite to the virtual visit for Notre Dame (they said that they would notify by 21 Jan the latest), I am definitely rejected, right? ; (

@IAMK Hi! I am also super stressed by the fact that I did not receive any interviews. My partner who is now a PhD candidate in physics in the U.S. told me that in his application cycle (fall 2018) he got offer without interview but some of his colleagues were interviewed and then accepted. I don’t know if Polisci is the same case, but I hope so. Good luck to you!

@danni11105 I also applied for UT-Austin for Comparative Politics. I did not get an interview invitation, but last Friday they asked me for my transcripts in French (I am applying from a university in France and I only submitted the English version). Not sure this is a good thing or not...

@Theory007 Thank you for your clarification! I thought research experience has to be like doing a formal RA or working as research intern. Such a relief that thesis and coursework can count! I submitted a final paper from a senior undergrad course which received a good grade as writing sample. I thought it is more relevant to the sub-areas I want to focus on in my PhD’s. I re-wrote this paper following the comments of the professor who graded it and added some theories and analysis because I learnt more about the topic in my MA. Initially I wanted to submit a chapter of my master’s thesis, but I could barely finish my introduction by the deadline. American programs’ deadlines are so early. In Europe, most programs have a deadline until April or even May.
