  1. Hello, @PoliSci_PhDgal. Will you accept UCSB? I am on their waitlist.
  2. I got rejected by UW and Syracuse. I reached out to the DGS of UGA, she said the first round offer have already sent. I also reach out to DGS of IUB, he said I was on the "admits", but on the waitlist for funding. So sad, IUB is my top choice! If you was accepted with funding by IUB and IUB is not your first choice, please decline it as soon as possible.
  3. I got offers with Fellowship from Pittsburgh yesterday.
  4. I also applied PubPol/PoliSci program at UMich. Which issues are you working on?
  5. Thanks very much for sharing. Albany provided 21000$ per year and Rutgers 25000$. I have no preference between them. Thanks for the wishes, hope I can hear news from other school this week. Wish you the best also.
  6. Congrats on your acceptance. I have been also rejected by Kansas. I also applied CU Denver and UGA, waiting for it!
  7. Only Rutgers and University of Nebraska Omaha. I did not get the funding from Rutgers at first, but I got now. I assumed someone had a better offer and decline the funding from Rutgers, and it my turn. For UNO, I am waiting for the funding.
  8. Hi there, I got the funding. They request me to make a response before March, and I will likely to decline it as I am still waiting for the results of other preferred programs. Hope that will help.
  9. Hi @DanTheGrad, I noticed that you had an interview with UCSB. I also had an interview with UCSB. I work on environmental politics. I choose the CP subfield, but a professor of American politics also environmental politics interviewed me. I forgot to ask their admission timeline. Do you know when will they release the result? Will it happen at the end of this week? Thanks!
  10. I got waitlisted from both CU Boulder and UMD today. I assume the possibility of being moved off waitlist and admitted by UMD is much lower than the CU Boulder. My subfield is CP and I work on environmental politics.
  11. I saw someone have claimed the offer from Duke public policy. Hope both of you will hear good news. @politely_curious @bbrwin ------------- Public Policy, Duke University Received an e-mail to check the portal. This was around 3 weeks after I was interviewed. 25K stipend + 9K summer fellowship. Tuition waivers. Added on February 11, 2022 Accepted on 11 Feb Fall 2022 International GRE 168 GPA 4.00 PhD 0
  12. True. The timeline of public policy program and political science programs is quite different, though some polisci programs include the subfield of public policy, such as University of Arizona and Texas A&M University. That's why I opened this thread for people to discuss public policy/management programs. Just do it. I believe we all will end up with a happy home. International applicants without a degree from universities at the US will have drawbacks, from my perspectives. But other materials can indicate our qualification, and programs will consider the race and nation diversity of the cohorts. Let's just focus on what we can control. Many people said that GRE is not the dominant factor and more and more programs did not require GRE. Hope we can hear good news soon!
  13. @AnotherPerspective @IAMK Aha! I also received that email from CU Boulder. Feb 1st is Chinese NewYear, also known as Lunar New Year. I assume @IAMK is also a Chinese applicant.
  14. University of Arizona have notified its admission decision by email from the DGS. I got interview request from University of Nebraska Omaha by email from the POI. I still hear nothings from other programs, which are better programs actually. Maybe they have more applicants to review, though the application deadlines of some of them are earlier. If this week or last week is the week when they release good news, I will become more and more be nervous.
  15. The University at Albany, SUNY has released its results at the portal. I still heard nothing from other programs. Hope more guys can join this thread and share more information with us~
  16. UA only has one doctoral program, which is PhD in Government & Public policy with five concentrations: American politics, Comparative politics, IR, Public policy and management, and Methodology. My concentration is Public policy and management. Yep. UA has a higher ratio of international PhD students, which might be the reason that I can have an opportunity to get invitation for interview. Fingers crossed for you!!
  17. @JCX Yes! I'm from mainland China, where I have my both bachelor's and master's programs. Good luck to you!
  18. Welcome everyone to the 2021-2022 PhD application thread for public administration/public affairs/public management/public policy! Hello everyone, I'm starting this thread for anyone who's waiting on applications to doctoral programs in public administration/public affairs/public management/public policy! I've applied to Michigan (Public policy joint with political science), IU Bloomington, Syracuse, UW Evans, USC Price, Albany SUNY, Kansas, Georgia, Nebraska Omaha, Florida State U, Arizona State U, Rutgers-newark, CU Denver. I'm an international applicant, maybe a bit out of the loop. I heard nothing so far, and hope we can share any information related to admissions this year here. Good luck to you all! :)
  19. Hello, everyone! I'm an international applicants. I've applied both political science and public administration PhD programs. I got an interview with University of Arizona last week. My concentration is public policy and management. Does any body also got an interview? Maybe the professors at admission committee just want to examine my oral English. But I think my performance at the interview sucked. (TAT) I am not sure whether I will get a rejection. They said they will release the offers at early Feb. I also applied other following political science programs and my focus is environmental politics: Northwestern, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, Chicago, Johns Hopkins U, CU Boulder, Maryland-College Park, Pittsburgh, Colorado State U, TAMU (Public policy and management concentration). Besides, does anybody know where I can discuss the information of public administration/public affairs/public policy PhD programs with others? It seems that the guys at the "Government Affairs forum" all applies master programs. Following are the public affairs PhD programs that I have applied: UMich (Ford school), Indiana U Bloomington, Syracuse, U Washington, USC, Albany SUNY, Kansas, Georgia, Nebraska Omaha, Florida State U, Arizona State U, Rutgers-newark, CU Denver. If anybody get news from those programs, please do share with me. Good luck to you guys all and I hope we all can go to our dream programs!! Cheers!
