  1. I haven't heard form Yale, but I didn't get an interview so I know that is out for me. How about you? Where have you been accepted if I may ask (and congrats!).
  2. Thank you for sharing and updating us, Leri. I am actually disappointed in this whole process. Assuming one cannot be admitted without an interview, people who weren't interviewed should have been informed over a month ago that they would not be accepted. Also, based on others who interviewed for a variety of graduate programs, decisions are released after interviews in a timely manner (1-3 weeks maximum). Most people who were interviewed have been waiting over 5 weeks now...We will also not have a status update for likely another week? We do know from others that those who have been accepted have gotten informal emails from the director already anyway. I would think that it would be professional, and kind, to contact those you don't plan to admit and let them grieve and move on with the rest of their lives. I know a lot of people have been refreshing their portals/gradcafe endlessly since February 20th or earlier. While it isn't healthy, and I've given up on it entirely once I realized letters have gone out, that's the anxiety we're forced to live with. If it weren't for the online space and ability to share information with relative strangers, we would all still be completely clueless about admissions so long after decisions have actually been made. Anyone else extremely disheartened by this?
  3. I think they sent out acceptances (letter from director) last weekend. At this point, even the rejections seem late. Not sure what the hold up is, but it would be highly unusual to hear anything good at this point, unfortunately. I don't think the GSAS portal has been updated for anyone. EDIT: Just want to say for people searching for information in future years, there is a post from a few years back that suggests "20 applicants get interviewed and 10 admitted" or something like that. It seems to be completely false. Most people on Reddit / Gradcafe seem to have been interviewed, yet only a few are admitted. Keeping in mind that not everyone who is admitted uses these forums, it's likely the interviews are around 10 minutes because they're given to most applicants. Because they're rather informal and short, I don't think they're particularly impactful on the application but of course we have no way of knowing.
  4. Hi! Congrats on getting an interview. This is the first I hear of the Yale program doing interviews, but I know they made a lot of changes to the program in the last few years so perhaps it's a new part of the process. I messaged you about it, as I also applied to the program. Would love to hear how it goes! Did you apply to the other regional programs like Harvard, Columbia, Georgetown etc.?
