Ah great, Notre Dame does sound like a tight fit for Byzantium! I study early modern confessional education and similarly think ND would be the best fit for me. I also felt like my interview went well but with how competitive everything is this year it’s impossible to draw any conclusions. Fingers crossed still!

I haven’t heard anything either. My interview will be three weeks ago on Thursday (it was feb 3rd). Hopefully we still have a chance. What is your field?

Would the Columbia acceptances be willing to share what field they’re in? I know Columbia admits by field and just curious if I should just cross it off now.

For Columbia, as far as I could work out, in the past acceptances were sent out on every first Tuesday of February, if you go back through the years available on the results page you’ll find this to be the case in how they’re reported. This year nobody reported any on Tuesday but somebody else said that they are running behind their usual schedule so I wonder when we could expect to hear back. Has anyone heard positive news from Columbia? Even unofficial ones? I had a good chat with a POI in September (I’m an early modernist) and I’m wondering if any early modernists have heard about decisions yet. Also, anyone have anything good from UChicago? Has everyone who’s been admitted been informed by their POI? Should I assume a reject if I haven’t heard?

Yeah this is such a blow to my self-esteem as an applicant, not even a second thought just outright no thanks.

Also just got rejected by Brown! Sad face. Congratulations to all who got accepted. This is my first decision, feeling down as it was very high on my list and I spoke to three faculty members in September, who all seemed keen on my research.

Hello! New here, international first time applicant, early modernist mostly interested in history of education, religion, and intellectual life more broadly. Anyone here prepping for a Notre Dame interview? Have you heard anything about when they’ll actually take place and who will be interviewing? I assume it’s the POI I mentioned in my SOP but who knows really! Also, I previously interviewed for a European uni and it was legitimately aggressive and just downright unpleasant, I don’t really know what to expect from an American interview? ND is my top choice so really want to prep properly, if anyone has any advice, let me know, would be much appreciated. K
