  1. Hello! I applied to McGill as well! Which programs did you apply to there?
  2. Hi sorry to intrude this thread. I'm applying to masters programs in public health and epidemiology. I was wondering if anyone here got their MPH or MSc in Epi from McGill or UofT? I'm trying to figure out when I should expect a decision, it's making me super anxious! Thanks!
  3. I think we will start hearing back from schools this week up until mid March. It's usually a 2 or 3-week phase.
  4. That’s super interesting. Mcgill and UofT didn’t extend their deadlines so I had no idea about that. I want to go into environmental epi rather than pure public health like pandemic stuff. Hopefully that stays a relevant and growing field in the future, ?
  5. I'm curious to know why the forums are so quiet this year. Previous years there were MPH forums with hundreds of people and thousands of posts. I'm not sure what happened this year, it seems like everyone just disappeared. Are there less applicants this year???
  6. How long do you guys think "Under Review" is going to take until a decision is made?
  7. maybe they will send out more next week? Hope you get one If not, then there's always next year Good luck
  8. Thank you Where did you apply?
  9. Hey! Sure. My cGPA was 3.85 / 4.00 and my final year GPA (the one UofT uses) was a 3.98 / 4.00. I was in biology, did couple years of research related to environmental sciences, and took a few stats/coding courses. Some relevant experiences outside of uni too, but nothing crazy. I got the call from UofT for an interview just last week. I haven't had it yet!
  10. Oh I didn't know about this, I thought the acceptance rate was 10% or so for ALL applicants. It's confusing though, McGill seems to get a lot less applicants than other schools. Maybe I heard wrong, but a McGill prof told me that they only receive about 100 applicants a year for the MSc program. I really hope we all hear back soon. I can't believe it's going to take 2-3 months for a decision, despite our file already being in review.
  11. hey! Sounds like you have a lot of direct experience in the field! I come from a biology background, so my experience in research is more life sciences/environmental sciences with stats oriented.. but I hope that will still count as relevant experience given that I want to go into environmental epidemiology. No first author pubs though ? Hope you get in!
  12. I only applied to two schools for a total of four programs: - McGill MScPH (top choice) - McGill MSc in Epidemiology - UofT MPH: Epidemiology - UofT MPH: Occupational and Environmental Health I already received an interview for the UofT MPH: OEH program, which means I'm at least competitive but they only take 15 students. I'm hoping my interest in environmental health will give me somewhat of an advantage, since there aren't many people in that field. Seems like a lot of people want infectious disease or global health these days...
  13. Do you know how many people apply and how many are accepted into the McGill programs? And did you apply to other schools?
  14. So I'm getting mixed answers from McGill themselves. One of their faculty profs told me a while back that they plan on sending them early this cycle for the MSc program (mid/late Feb into March). But when I emailed their office they told me it won't be until late March/early April. Mine has been "In Review" as well (almost 2 weeks now). Surely it won't take them 2 months from now to make a decision? I hate the wait, it makes me so anxious!!
  15. Does anyone know when we expect to hear back from McGill MScPH and MSc in Epidemiology programs?
  16. Hello! :) I applied this cycle as well. I applied to the MPH OEH program at UofT, and the MScPH and MSc in Epi programs at McGill! So far I've received an interview for the UofT OEH program but haven't heard back from McGill. I heard it might be this month. Where did you guys apply to?
