    Future Sketches professor is based in NYC, not Boston, that is why.

    Also accepted at NYU ITP yesterday!

    And today I was accepted at the UCLA DMA MFA program. Great news

    It will arrive soon. My guess is that they go and ask the lab. And then come back with the answer.

     

    The labs didn't really made all selections from what I am understanding of all of this. Or they are really really really really bad with emails.

    Just got my email. Rejected.

    I had one interview with the lab professor and spoke to two students on the following week. I was told there was only one position and 300 applicants for that lab before we started the interview.

    I am sorry to hear that :(. If you can share, did you interview with all 3 of them and they actively sent an email letting you know? ... the anxiety is building up.

    A late answer for this one. I cold-contacted the Professor I would like to study with mid-2021 and they would not talk to potential candidates because of the high volume of messages they receive. Understandable.

    I also contacted my second choice lab through a mutual friend. They never replied - a good sign that I should not apply to them, and I didn't.

    I spoke to former students who had all kinds of experiences: cold-submitting like we did, previously working with the lab etc. No specific process. Yet it was very positive for me to try to contact them as I could at least learn who would spend at least 1 minute to read and answer an unsolicited potential student (amongst the hundreds they would receive during a year).

    I received the email on Jan 31 and had the interview last week. From their email I imagine many students were interviewed on the same day.

    I had the interview for UCLA DMA MFA last week. Does anyone has news on the other programs?

    - UC Berkeley Art Practice - no response

    - UCLA DMA MFA - interviewed

    - UC Santa Barbara MAT (Master of Science, not MFA) - no response

    I am guessing I will be declined on both UCB and UCSB because there was no interview request so far. I have applied to other masters but they are not MFA (MIT, Columbia, McGill and NYU).
