Hi all! With respect to what has happened with the University of Guelph CFT program, I reached out to the UoG newspaper and they're interested in pursuing this story. They've asked me to reach out to other applicants who may be interested in chatting with them about what happened. If you are, please let me know via DM so I can put you in touch!
Yes, I agree with this completely. I currently have the time and capacity to take this on, so I'm happy to compile information. Feel free to send me a DM if you have anything you'd like to share. Particularly if you were accepted to the shortlist OR if you've reached out to the program to ask if they're running in 2022/ask for a refund.
I know what I'll be doing over the weekend. Thank you!
I feel particularly frustrated because I applied solely to Guelph because of location constraints (I am a mature student and my husband works full time so we cannot re-locate).
It really seems as though they were not planning on letting this information out so they wouldn't need to give refunds. It really feels like such a scam and I think for the money we all paid to apply, we at least deserve some real answers.
I just submitted a complaint to the Ontario Ombudsman. I'll let you all know how it goes. Here is the complaint form if anyone else wants to submit one.
Mine still says all documents received as well. My last initial is middle of alphabet, but yes, you're probably right. See you all back here next year I guess!
