I have till the 30th to accept my offer at U of A (I think it's the same for others). I would imagine that if people decline their offers more acceptances would go out after then.

Hello all, this year I am graduating from my undergrad and will be starting my MPH (in Canada). I'm currently trying to choose a school, some programs have a thesis option and some just have a practicum project. In terms of obtaining a PhD/DrPh is there a strong advantage to completing a thesis. I currently have about 3 years of RA experience and am just finishing my undergrad thesis.

Congrats! Did you just email SASK to rescind? Ill also likely be picking UVIC

Thanks! For sure. I have a 3.9/4.33 GPA (probably around 4.2 in the last two years). I have a BA in Psychology (Honours) and an addiction studies certificate. I have about 3 years of research experience. I work as an RA with island health and I have one year of experience in psychiatric care, and some other TA and work experience through my uni. I believe my references and LOI probably helped. On my references was the Dean and one was from the Chair of my department (they both attended Uvic). I also had a previous graduate help me write my letter. Sending you good thoughts! I'm sure you'll hear soon

Ive had that feeling last week, I really hope they start before friday. I applied to Hpro in person and online and both my applications have the same GSMS #. -
I think prestige matters less in Canadian than in the US. I think it also depends what you want to do next. If you plan on pursing a Phd you might want to consider a program with a thesis and make sure that the 1 year program meets the criteria needed to be admitted. If you plan on wokring employers are look at your education and experience. Brock still have a practicum so you still get that experience.

Anyone hear from u of a today?

who did you email?

Hi! I applied to U of A MPH for the fall 2022 start. I applied to both the on-campus and long-distance streams. Im wondering if anyone one has done either. Are they treated as a the same cohort or different? Is there any huge advantages to one of the other in terms of classes, practicum etc? Although I do not live in Edmonton im not oppsed to relocating if i have to.

Hopefully sooner! If they only sent out one specialization per week it would take 8 weeks ?♀️
