Update on my own post... it was indeed a rejection. Sigh. That was my last hope for a PhD this cycle, so I guess I'm down to considering my masters acceptances now. What does everyone think? Is taking out loans for a masters worth it, or should I just take the year off and apply for PhDs again in the fall? I'd be looking at like ~$30k to accept one of the masters places I was offered.

Perfect. This response gave me the confidence to reach out! At least if it's a rejection I can be put out of the misery of waiting!

What are y'all's opinions on reaching out to a program you still haven't heard from to check your status? I don't want to like... urge along my rejection if they are somehow still considering me, lol. But at the same time I have til April 14 to consider the MA programs I was accepted to and I only have one PhD still floating around out there.

Is anyone else still waiting to hear from Penn? I saw the flood of rejections posted last week and a handful of acceptances a few weeks before, but it is still radio silence on my end and I'm not sure how to interpret it. I want to be hopeful, but what are the odds they are just waiting to reject me in the next wave? Congrats to everyone who has recently posted acceptances, though! You all are killing it!

For anyone still waiting to hear from Northeastern, I heard back last night around 5 EST: rejected from PhD but accepted to MA. That seems to be my curse this app cycle ?

Just got rejected from NYU but accepted to the MA program... I really have no idea what to do. This was my top program, so I'm very tempted to go just to be able to be there. But is it worth more student loans for? Ugh, this whole season has been so demoralizing.

If interviews have gone out for a school and you haven't received one, is that pretty much a guaranteed reject? I keep flipping back and forth between feeling hopeless about some schools and holding onto a little glimmer ? Still waiting to hear from 5 places, but at least 3 of them I've seen posts on the board about interviews or recruitment events, so I'm starting to feel a shutout creeping closer...

Can anyone claim any of the NYU acceptances on the board? Literally made an account to ask this... they are my top choice and I'm out here spiraling not having heard back ?
