  1. I got the email this past Friday. I think the WGRP is automatically accounted for in your financial aid.
  2. You should have received another email titled "Your 2022-2023 Financial Aid Offer is Available to Review". IF you applied to scholarships, I do not believe that info will be sent out until early April. When it comes to funding through TA/GRA positions, I do not think that those come out until closer to the start of term.
  3. I am getting ready to contact professors about TA/GRA positions. What is the best way for someone who does not have any research experience to ask for these positions?
  4. I got an update and received my official acceptance to UT-Austin. I applied to the MPAff (Public Affairs)/MCRP (City and Regional Planning) program. This was for the MPAff. Still waiting to hear from MCRP.
  5. I received an email from UT-Austin with a acceptance decision but it was addressed to the wrong person. I think the system messed up because our initials were the same. ? I emailed the school about the mistake and I am happy for the other person for getting accepted but I am really upset.
  6. Would this be prudent for people who are considering other offers and may not decide to go to Portland State? As someone who wants to eventually get my doctorate, I do not want to burn any bridges.
  7. Wow. I might do that. How are you doing that. Are you just emailing individual professors?
  8. Yes they did. Still not out since there are so many attributes, but if I get a better offer I will defiantly take it. If anyone is on the waitlist and this is your top pick let me know.
  9. Just got financial aid offer from Portland State. ~$12K per quarter. No funding ? Still waiting if I got the scholarships I applied to.
  10. Does anyone know why all my programs I've applied to have a April 14 deadline but Cal Poly SLO has a 30 day deadline? In my Congrats email from Cal Poly, it said I have an acceptance deadline of 30 days (March 15) from receiving the email. I'm stressing out since I haven't heard from some of my other programs yet and from the schools I have been accepted to I have not received any funding info. I'm a person who likes having all the options in front of me and deliberate using pro/con lists before making a decision. It would not be a problem if Cal Poly was not one of my top choices but it is.
  11. In at Portland State. No financial aid yet but TA/GA/RA positions won't be provided due to budget cuts.
  12. I am not 100% sure about architecture but I know that for planning it is better to study where you want to work. Your first job will probably be at or near the place where you studied and most programs in the U.S. are area specific. As for architecture I feel like getting a job is geared more towards work experience and the quality of your portfolio.
  13. @woketaco I think this discussion thread will help you. https://www.quora.com/Can-I-change-my-mind-after-accepting-a-university-offer
  14. @Chinchinchilla That stinks. I'm so sorry. USC is a great program though and as a LA native, LA is a great city to learn planning.
  15. This is the decision schedule for Portland State. I think/hope that USC will have a similar timetable since PSU also has rolling admissions Fall 2022 Application Deadlines Master of Urban & Regional Planning Priority admissions deadline: Thursday, January 6, 2022 (8:59 pm Pacific Time) Applicants can expect decision information: Mid-late March, 2022 Deadlines for subsequent rounds of applications (8:59 pm Pacific Time): March 15: decision information April 7 April 15: decision information May 7 May 1: decision information May 23
  16. @woketaco USC has rolling admissions which means that they make decisions based on when you apply. The earlier you apply the earlier you will be notified. Those who applied by the early deadline or in JAnuary will probably be reviewed and decisions for those applicants sometime during the first or second week of March. Since you applied late you will probably be told later in the process (late March or sometime in April). CAUTION: THIS IS ALL A GUESS BUT I'M BASING THIS ON HOW PORTLAND STATE DOES THERE ADMISSIONS WHICH IS SIMILAR TO THIS.
  17. @nacohhhhh Thanks for the reply. That makes sense, but I did submit my application and application materials by the Dec. 15 early deadline. I was hoping that that would get me an earlier decision. Oh Well. Thanks again.
  18. @nacohhhhh When and how did you hear from UT Austin? I'm still waiting to hear back.
  19. Does anyone know when UT, Austin sends their decisions? I checked past submissions but there are few and span anywhere from mid to late Febuary and all over the place in March.
  20. I think they usually send out decisions sometime during the second week of March.
