  1. @Ponygurl I emailed RISD about their printmaking waitlist on March 10 and got this response: ”Each department has a small waiting list with a handful of applicants. There is no internal ranking system to the waiting list.” Hope this helps. So nerve wracking…
  2. Just received e-mail acceptance to Pratt for fine arts/printmaking with a scholarship of $14,000/semester ☺️ Also received a rejection letter from VCU finally haha Please let me know if anyone is able to successfully ask for a decision extension for Pratt... I'm highly interested in Pratt but still hoping to hear back from RISD as I'm on their waitlist
  3. Congrats to everyone who recently got an acceptance ? It’s nice to see even among what seems to be a competitive year…! I had an interview with Pratt yesterday so I’m still hopeful for more news. I sent an email a week ago to SVA asking about scholarships and TA positions, since I was accepted with no other info, which MFA fine arts answered for me pretty vaguely/unhelpfully. A few days ago I got a letter in the mail telling me to check the portal to see scholarship info. I got a 20% scholarship and… work study? Which I don’t really understand. Today the chair of MFA fine arts reached out in the same email thread asking to meet on Zoom tomorrow. Would this be about scholarships? I already decided SVA might not be the best fit for me as they don’t have a printmaking specific program. I’m willing to be convinced otherwise. I’m kind of nervous… has anyone had a followup from SVA after getting accepted? Also I apologize if this has already been answered, but is it a bad move to reach out to a school you’ve been waitlisted to saying thank you and that it’s your top school and you’d be happy to provide more info?!? I’m frazzled lol.
  4. Received a message a few hours ago from RISD saying I was waitlisted for printmaking. I was half expecting to receive a followup message saying it was sent in error, because I did not have an interview with them. I'm actually super happy because I thought it was a reject at this point ?
  5. Thanks for this thorough reply! It's really good to hear the facilities are amazing, and sounds like the faculty are top tier too. My interview is tomorrow morning so hopefully I'll be able to ask some more of my print program specific questions since it was weirdly hard to find a lot of info on their site and online. Pratt is seeming more and more appealing to me since I'm NY based and my partner wouldn't have to leave his job if I was accepted and chose to go there.
  6. Hi all, I just discovered this forum recently and wish I had seen it before even starting the application process. So much great advice (it's my first year applying, and I didn't decide until December that I would be trying to go to grad school so I had to scramble... I was only in my undergrad program for 2 years due to a change of major so I feel like an outsider/newbie/totally lost sometimes in the art academia world and grad school process). Mostly deciding to comment to say I was invited to interview with Pratt printmaking today, hopefully this is helpful for someone to know. It looks like it's going to be with two faculty interviewers. I'm super nervous... It's my second interview. My first was with SVA which went really well, and I was subsequently accepted into their Fine Arts program. My preference would be a printmaking specific program... but a school with a robust printmaking department could be alright. My work is sculptural and interdisciplinary but I fully ID as a printmaker and would like to focus on that and eventually teach printmaking. I haven't heard anything from my top picks (RISD, VCU, Tyler...) so I'm assuming that's a rejection at this point. Does anyone have any insight into Pratt as a school for printmaking?
