  1. Flying in on the 20th, Orientation is the morning of the 21st! Classes begin on the 27th. so ready!
  2. As long as your grad school acceptance is not contingent on the B.S. degree that should not be a problem. The question is, do you have the right course credits for a B.A.? You need to call your academic advisor like yesterday.
  3. Can you take the class this summer? Grad schools require you to have your undergrad completed at the time you start the program.
  4. I hate that people apologized to Vannidiot. He's clearly a troll, and if by chance he's not, may God help him.
  5. In Waltham, right? I think you can get a nice 1 bedroom for $800-$1000. I only need a room (in a house preferably) with semi-sane roommates.
  6. Brandeis People- let me know how your housing searches are coming along. I've gotten a couple of leads that seem extremely affordable. I've found two places for around $500 (including utilites) so far.
  7. Hostelling International, which is in a really nice part of Boston was a great experience for me. Free wifi and breakfast in the morning, met students from Australia, China and Turkey while I was there in January. http://www.hihostels.com/affiliates/hiu ... teID=97060
  8. Sweet BB Jesus, this is fantastic news. Your frantic wild runs through the gradcafe forums had literally raised the overall blood pressure of the entire community. We can all exhale now! Congrats!!!
  9. OMG, please don't ride the Chinatown... they drive waaay too fast and they ran over a lady a few months back.... um go with MegaBus or the BoltBus. www.megabus.com or www.boltbus.com I used the megabus between the Boston area and NYC for interviews in January... but on my way back to NYC from Boston I missed my megabus connect and had to take the Lucky Star... it was an interesting and pretty scary experience....
  10. ^Congratulations and welcome!
  11. Most people I've talked to move in early August and I know a few people that have found roommates through livejournal.com and Craig's list... there is also a Brandeis classifieds website with a lot of options as well but I think a log-in is required to review them.
  12. If you live in Waltham, perhaps with a roommate, your stipend should be more than manageable! Living in Boston with the commute + living expenses will get very pricey. If anyone wants to have a gradcafe meetup in the fall, Im in!
  13. Congrats Joel! See you in the fall!
  14. I already have, for my interview! It was my first visit to the Boston area and I fell in love with the school.. very excited.
  15. This is awesome. You should be accepted just for this.
  16. I question whether the Brandeis posting was real. They listed the date of 2/15/2009 as the date of acceptance by postal service. That was a Sunday and the following day was a federal holiday (no postal deliveries). They also listed the degree the way the directions explicitly tell you not to.
