What program did you get rejected from Otis? I thought we were not going to hear back from them until March. Did it come e-mail or snail mail. Congratulations on your Interview. I am not sure about statistics but an interview is all ways a good thing.

Painting under Fine Arts

Has any one applied to Otis in LA? Have you heard anything?

I just checked and my application says that I am missing a recommendation too. Ugh I sent them all at the same time. I will e-mail her too.

I am glad I am not alone. ugh.

I have applied to 10 schools. Out of those schools- Berkeley, Otis, PNCA, PSU, Mills, Claremont and UW have had issues with my transcripts! Most commonly they were misplaced because my name has change since I graduated. UW is the worst- they don't know where my transcripts are and won't help me because they already sent all the applications to the review committee. When I asked the lady I talked to on the phone- she told me not to send a new one. When I asked if my application will not be reviewed because of it being incomplete she said "I don't know that is up to the faculty" ugh. I e-mailed one of the facualty directly so hopefully they can help. Stressful! I feel like every time I am relaxed about grad school I find out another school is missing my transcripts and then I get stress out again.

Now that it is a couple weeks later then the last post- Has anyone heard from Berkeley yet? They said at the end of Jan. or the beginning of Feb.- I am starting to get nervous.

What I heard is about a third of applicants have no reason applying for grad school. Their portfolio is not cohesive and they don't even follow the directions of the application. A third is just ok, but their work still needs development and a third is really good- and these are the portfolios that they have to decide from.

Thanks for that. I realized I am applying to multiple schools with 20% acceptance rates. Better then I thought. Though I am still applying to some with 3%-8%- ugh. And two of my top three didn't show the rate, but still it was better then I thought.

The Mail system in New Mexico is horrible. I used to live in Santa Fe and many times I would not get things people sent me or visa versa, and I am having trouble with my transcripts (coming from New Mexico) getting to my schools on time.

I submitted that yesterday! Yay! I also feel ahead of the game now.

A Professor recommended Claremont to me saying it is the next "big" school in art. I am applying there.
