I just turned down a funded offer from U Minnesota's RSTC program. I'll be turning down an unfunded offer for NCSU's CRDM soon. -
Anyone?

I got an acceptance e-mail around lunch today with a GTA offer. Good luck to everyone else waiting!
-
I haven't, but I was thinking (hoping) it would be this week since the February 26 e-mail from the DGS said we'd hear in a "couple of weeks."
-
Would anyone accepted with funding be willing to share what the teaching load is and/or whether you are considering declining the offer? Thanks!
-
I'm an "M." Maybe something will come one way or the other (for this and the other 7 schools) soon. The waiting game is for the birds!
-
I wonder if these are going out alphabetically. *checks e-mail compulsively*
-
Definitely!
-
Yes, the e-mail indicates that the director is "hopeful" they can offer funding soon. Thanks, and congrats to you, too!! My fingers are *crossed* about the funding. Please let me know if you gain any insight on the situation! I have no idea whether funding is likely to come through for us.

It looks like I got in but am waitlisted for funding. Hmmn.

Minnesota is definitely one of my top choices (though I do have 10 more schools to hear from--granted, not all the same tier)! I'm from the South, so anything is expensive in comparison... And thanks for the info. about Syracuse. I nearly applied there and have been curious about it. My research interests are animals and people who eat or don't eat them and who talk about such things offline and on. Ha I'm tired and have no energy for eloquence tonight. As far as the advisor is concerned, I'd rather PM about details... because... this is the Internet. -

That's what my letter said, and I haven't run across any other funding options. I am going to the visitation day. I'm in a master's program, so it won't be a big deal for me to take off. Plus, I've never been and am very curious about the campus and the Twin Cities area. About the Ramen: I do see the cost of living is a good bit higher than what I'm used to--hoping my partner finds an excellent job so I can keep up my organic food and wine habit! Also, I see you've been accepted to Syracuse (congrats!)--what do you think of the two programs in comparison to one another? -

First of all, a big congrats to those accepted thus far! Second, does anyone know whether these admits were for lit only? I'm rhet/comp and curious about whether I'm out yet. Thanks a ton! -

Thank you, and that is good to hear. I've never been to Minneapolis and am looking forward to visiting--hoping to not freeze. -

I considered applying (donating...) to Stanford's MTL program because I am a huge Haraway fan. In hindsight, I probably should have explored philosophy programs. Your scholarship sounds very interesting. I am reading Singer and Adams this semester and am hoping to gain more specific direction. -

Hi there, Nice to meet a fellow animal studies person. Where did you apply, out of curiosity? I hope I didn't miss all the programs that would have been perfect for me. I am looking at how AR activists disarticulate and rearticulate ideas with linguistic and extralinguistic (digital and not) discourse to change cultural ideas about animal treatment and consumption. I'd say my approach is more rhetorical and philosophical. What about you? -

Sorry, I posted this a bit prematurely--got a letter of support that cleared it up. Thanks!
