  1. I got into the BSW program at McGill, so if I don't get an offer from Carleton in the end, this will be my backup
  2. Has anyone who was waitlisted at Carleton heard anything yet? 👀
  3. I applied last year, don't worry, this is normal! It'll look like that until you get a decision.
  4. Congratulations! Were you on the waitlist initially? I'd been wondering if anyone who was waitlisted had heard anything back yet as I'm hoping to get accepted from the waitlist!
  5. Crossing my fingers that you get accepted off the waitlist at the other school for fall 2024! 😌
  6. I didn’t apply to McGill (couldn’t cause they only have an advanced standing MSW), but I am from Montreal, so if I don’t get into Carleton (I’m waitlsited), then we can always hang out if you’d like!
  7. A full time course load for an entire school year is usually 8-10 classes; so 4-5 classes per semester. But I think as long as you maintain a mid B average than the amount of courses you're taking won't matter? To be completely sure, I'd contact the school you got into to ask.
  8. I admittedly considered this as well because I have family in the states until I remembered student loans probably wouldn't even cover half of the tuition/fees 😂 I hope you get into uManitoba so you don't have to go with this option!
  9. Oooof, a program in the states?? Wouldn't that cost a lot more than a program here? 😩
  10. Based on previous year's forums, this was a good sign for people, so it is likely one for you as well.
  11. Got waitlisted for Carleton's non BSW program for the second time :'). Considering the fact that they send offers out to 35 people it makes sense that more than 10 declines are needed for offers to be made to people on the waitlist. I calculated and since they made offers to 9 people on the waitlist last year and the program is only big enough for a cohort of 25 people each year, that means 19 applicants rejected their offers last year. (meaning 16 people accepted their offers and they needed to fill the cohort which explains why they made offers to 9 people on the waitlist). Either way, good luck to anyone who's also on the waitlist, and I hope you receive positive results from the other schools you applied to
  12. It's best to accept your offer at uWindsor while you wait to hear back from other schools! That way, if you receive rejections, you'll at least have a spot at uWindsor. If you accept the offer, and then receive an offer from a program/school that you believe has more pros than the program at uWindsor, then you can contact them and reject the previously accepted offer to accept an offer somewhere else. Ps: congratulations on your acceptance! I'm also waiting to hear back from Carleton, fingers crossed we both get favorable news
  13. That assumption is not necessarily correct... there are many people who meet/exceed minimum qualifications every year who get rejected.
  14. They don't change right as February starts (or at least it didn't last year). Last year, applicant's (including myself) received an email once all applications had been reviewed (that was closer to the end of February) and statuses only began changing a day or so after that point.
