  1. Getting multiple MA's will not help you beyond this point. Publications were my saving grace in my Ph.D. application cycle, and typically, grades won't matter too much, (assuming the poor grades are outside of the area you intend to focus on).
  2. From the perspective of someone with less-than-stellar grades, who just made it through admissions this season, and who isn't from an ivy league school: You need to cast your net a bit broader than some, but you're in a pretty good place. It might be worth it to complete an MA first and hone in on your writing and pick a topical subject. This process of generating a writing sample goes best if you are working with a faculty advisor, and spending a good deal of time on it. Your writing sample, along with stellar MA grades can swing the outcome of applications drastically.
  3. Please keep us updated. Rooting for you.
  4. Well, I had thought I bombed the interview but I guess not... Accepted at UC Irvine LPS. I don't really see a reality where I won't be accepting their offer. I'm going to give myself a few more days to get all the info from each program I was seriously considering, but I have started declining acceptances and waitlists from places I'm sure I will not be attending now. It has been a wild ride and I haven't fully processed the acceptance. Any idea when that goes away?
  5. 5 waitlists! How incredibly stressful. I was just waitlisted at Boulder. I'm not too fond of uncertainty. Are you hanging in there?
  6. I AM ELATED, EVERYTHING IS AWESOME. Accepted at UMass Amherst, AND Western Ontario!
  7. Yep, this is exactly it. In at my safety, and it's a good fit for me. Have no room to complain... and yet.
  8. Really need some good news this week. Too many rejections back to back. 🥲🍹
  9. Wow, we’re twins. I’ve heard basically nothing, even from places that some have gotten rejections already. No clue going on. I also got in to my safety. Interview upcoming at a top choice.
  10. Did anyone else get a confusing email from CU Boulder? i think I’m waitlisted, but i details to follow in the coming weeks, so we will see.
  11. Seeing results from Johns Hopkins, Wisconsin - Madison, and Duke on the results page. Pretty sure I can stop checking those daily now, as they are most likely rejections. Oh well!
  12. Update: pretty sure I can safely assume a rejection from Duke now, received a rejection from UChicago last night.
  13. I’ve been going off of previous years’ notification dates. Hoping we both get good news from Wisconsin.
  14. Anything today for anybody here? Saw a few acceptances and interviews go up.
  15. Haven’t heard from Duke either. I’m going to hold off until the end of next week and if I don’t hear anything, I’ll assume it’s a rejection. seeing a lot of results posted for UChicago. Assuming a rejection there, but not devastated. It wasn’t the best fit for me anyway.
