  1. does anyone who is going to UofA want to make a whatsapp group? if so send me a message with ur number and i can make it!
  2. mine came from monique and from evtrom@ualberta.ca
  3. I have received my acceptance from UofA by email an hour ago unexpectedly while I was napping lol. It's my top choice so I will be accepting! And I'm from Ontario. Congrats to everyone else too.
  4. just noticed my alberta application finally changed from pre screening to under review ahhhhh hopefully news soon
  5. Georgian has an on campus clinic for placements. Durham doesn't and I heard from many ppl that it was difficult to get placements and the school didn't help as much as they expected. So, if you aren't confident in your ability to hunt down those opportunities Durham might not be good. That said lots of people enjoyed Durham anyways. But yeah Georgian seems to be more popular imo, although I'm sure there are pros and cons to both. Haven't been to either though so this is just based on what I've been told!
  6. they posted 16 hours ago in a new thread under this forum! maybe thats true, im not sure.
  7. someone already got accepted to uofa im soooo anxious i hope i hear something!
  8. omg congrats dude! thats my dream school! i havent gotten anything yet tho did you just get an email?
  9. Is anyone else confused by ORPAS' subGPA calculation? I wasn't expecting it to be so low and I'm trying to calculate it but I can't get the same number they have. Also the final course at the bottom of my list just says "**Average**" and they've counted it as a length of 3.00, does anyone know what that means??
  10. That's good advice, thank you! Yeah taking more courses is what I'm leaning towards.
  11. I'm finishing my BA at Brock in Applied Linguistics. Some of my classmates are from the certificate program. I don't know that much about it in particular but have really enjoyed my linguistics courses here at Brock! We have great faculty. Brock is a good option. ?
  12. I'm curious to know what others are planning to do if they don't get in. I'm thinking about other options, but ultimately I know I want to do SLP and not CDA or anything else, so I need the masters. CDA college and then reapply for unis is an option but I have heard mixed opinions on how much it improves an application. Might also depend on the school I guess but I heard Ontario doesn't really consider it and cares more about undergrad GPA... I think my GPA is what makes my application less competitive. I'm wondering if taking a few additional courses while volunteering might be my best bet, but I'm not sure if I should retake relevant courses (had some B- and C's in anatomy/physiology stuff) or if I should take new courses that are less challenging.
  13. I took mine on the 10th because I was confused about that as well. Idk why they aren't more clear but I think if the date is available you're fine. You could email admissions to confirm if that makes you feel more at ease.
  14. I believe UAlberta's deadline for letters is later but the others are due today (or technically tomorrow/next business day since it is a weekend today)
  15. My fall grades still are not officially out, although I can view them through my student portal they won't appear on my transcript. But UofA says upload an updated transcript with fall grades before the deadline. I guess I just can't..??
  16. For Dalhousie, on my application summary page the reference letter status boxes are blank and have not been marked as received. Is that normal?
  17. Wow okay that's good news, thank you so much!! It's my top choice ?
  18. I'm stressed about UofA's GPA calculation. The last 60 credits/20 half courses, but not including winter 2020 grades... I think I misinterpreted this, they must mean like December 2020-April 2020. I was thinking winter of the 2020-2021 year so winter 2021 but I guess I was wrong. My grades really werent affected winter 2020 since courses were pretty much over when covid hit. Does that mean they are dipping into first year marks to add up to 60 credits? I took courses during spring 2020 and those were my worst marks because that was like the height of quarantine
  19. Wow that's a crazy average! Smaller group than I expected too. I assumed it may be less competitive since it's 3 years. I am applying too! Good luck!!
  20. Does anyone have stats on Dalhousie? How many apply and how many accepted? Also wondering what their average accepted GPA is.. Last day for ORPAS! Good luck to everyone!
