  1. My application for U of A is officially finished! All references are in, CASPER is in, updated transcripts are in. Basically everything in my control is done. and now months of waiting. Gonna need to figure out a hobby to keep my brain occupied ?
  2. Does anyone know how many people apply to u of A? I know the Ontario schools release it but I’m so curious about alberta.
  3. Take a read through the website! I did some of the practice questions by setting a five minute timer and practicing answering the questions. It’s tiring, but it’s hard to practice for. You’ll have both written and video filmed questions. I focused on some core words for me what I wanted out of my responses, and tried to include them in all of my answers. I found these pages helpful https://bemoacademicconsulting.com/blog/casper-prep-tips https://www.savvypremed.com/blog/surefire-tips-for-improving-your-casper-score-with-examples I did mine right after a day of work and I wish I had had a little more rest before as I found it fatiguing. But it wasn’t hard, per se. good luck!
  4. I got to see U of A’s reference portal today, cause my boss is doing my reference and she had some questions. Wow it is not as simple as they make it out to be. She had to answer questions about my English proficiency, how she thinks I’d do teaching, all sorts of things. And copy and paste the actual reference letter while also supplying a PDF. I’m glad I gave her time cause I was expecting it to be as simple as Upload letter.
  5. I took it the same day! I think I read somewhere it takes four weeks for it to be released to the person who took it, but I don’t remember where I heard that lol. As long as U of A has it, I can wait lol. good luck with your application ,btw!
  6. Kinda unrelated but something I’ve been thinking about. How old are most of you? This is a second career kind of thing for me and I’m worried about my age being a deterrent. Might just be my mind getting restless during the waiting time. I’m 32, and I’m worried I’ll be much older than most of my potential cohort. Especially if I don’t get accepted this year. so… how old are y’all? You can say age ranges. Like 20-22, 23-25, 25-30 or older than 30 if you’re nervous about putting your age up.
  7. I asked Vickie after I took mine and she said nope! Just the Casper part. Mines already been sent to u of A. Can you see your quartile in your Altus suite yet?
  8. I’ve got some credits in progress and Vicki at UAlberta told me to just put ‘in progress’ and then if I get it before the decision to update it, but if not and I’m accepted it will be conditional on them being finished
  9. Just submitted my U of A application. I’m going all in to it, as I’m Alberta’s and don’t want to leave the province. Hell even moving to Edmonton feels like a lot for me. I’ve never been this nervous about anything! I’m applying with a 3.82 GPA in a BSC in Speech and Hearing Science from Arizona State, a reference letter from the dean of my college, a leadership position in my sorority, volunteer hours with both children and seniors, a previous job as a paraprofessional at schools and my SOI is pretty damn good (I have some personal tragedy related to why I want to be an SLP). If one of my friends presented with my application I’d say they’re a for sure and yet… I can’t honestly consider that they might accept me. Looks like from previous threads most acceptances are in March and I feel like I might explode waiting till then
