howdy! have you heard anything from UT yet? I also got waitlisted
I talked to the head of graduate studies about a week ago. He called and wanted to tell me about funding and said I was high up on the waitlist. But I haven’t heard anything official. What concentration are you?

Here's an update. Finally heard back from all schools, but because of all the waitlist placements I probably have another few weeks before I make any final decision.

Congrats!! Nice to know someone was contacted by Northwestern...I've seen on a previous forum that someone was admitted via phone call and the very next day they admitted someone else via phone call.
Did they also send an email about how much stipend they offered you?
Yeah for sure, really hope you get a call tomorrow! I haven’t gotten the official email yet.

I just received a phone call from northwestern accepting me into the program. Extremely excited!

Northwestern posts application and admission statistics for all of its graduate programs. You could also find it by searching for "northwestern admission statistics graduate". Apparently, they accepted 7 students last year, and only 4 enrolled.

Ugh, what a bummer for me, but good for you and thank you for letting me know. How did the interview go?
Yeah, sorry. Interview was went pretty well and improved my overall impression of the program. 7 faculty asked me questions mostly concerning my practice and my ability to do the kind of work required of a TA/instructor.

Has anyone heard from UConn Sculpture or USF (University of South Florida) Sculpture.
I also applied and haven't heard from Indiana Bloomington - I know other mediums got their offers already, but I haven't heard anything about Sculpture.
I heard back from UCONN sculpture a few weeks ago, I just had my interview with them this past Wednesday evening. They said they were interviewing over the next few weeks and would get back with decisions mid-March.

how many here have an existing studio practice? and who is coming straight out of undergrad? Is this your 1st time trying?
I've been out of school for over a decade, working in an unrelated field. Got serious about my studio practice a few years ago. And this is my first round/year of trying an MFA program.
Hope you guys dont mind answering. Not trying to be nosy, just trying to get a gauge of the competition ?
This is my first time applying to MFA programs. I've been out of undergrad for 5 years and I've spent all that time working as an artist and also working as an arts worker.

Just heard back from UWMadison that I'm on the waitlist ?♂️. I had an Interview today with Northwestern which was pretty incredible. My experience was very similar to what @Gaaradescribed. The interview definitely confirmed that it's a top choice.

Hi, an update for anyone interested. I got interviews this weekend from RISD ceramics, Umass Amherst, and UConn. The RISD interview was yesterday and they accepted me on the spot. I have a lot to still figure out about funding. Still primarily waiting on Hunter and UCLA. Rutgers too, but that seems less likely cause people have already heard back.

Just heard about an Interview from CMU

WTF....I JUST GOT AN INTERVIEW INVITE FROM NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY (ATP)....?
I'm so shocked right now, they only accept like 5 people and give crazy good stipend...
The email says that interviews take place on February 17 & February 18. They let me know that the interview starts with a presentation I have to make that should include 2-4 works and be no longer than 5 minutes. And the total interview will be no longer than 20 minutes. It seems intense...I need to go for a walk lol ?
If anyone has experience with NW interviews, please let me know anything you can. I'll be looking at previous forums to see what to expect.
I got the same email! definitely freaking out ?. Are you planning on going to do your interview in person?

Hello, everyone!
I have an interview with the University of Wisconsin in a few days!
I was wondering if there is anyone who has been through interviews that can give some advice? It will be a Zoom interview.
Thank you in advance!
Congrats, I just heard from UW Madison as well about an interview. I'm in the middle of applying to 13 schools so it definitely feels good to already have an interview lined up. I'm studying Sculpture/interdisciplinary/ceramics.

I decided to accept the offer from Northwestern, I was looking for a heavily theoretical/conceptual program and in that regard it's hard to beat Northwestern, also the faculty are incredible and the funding package is insane, 37k with no work requirement the first year and a TA position the second year. Thank you all for the camaraderie.
