  1. congrats about iowa!! i'm on a waitlist for hunter, and it's just been a few days since the deadline they told me they would be hearing if the people they accepted were going to attend, or if they'd have openings. i'm trying to be hopeful but realistic, it's just hard to estimate where things stand. thanks for your insight!
  2. anybody with experience on waitlists know at what point you should count yourself out?
  3. has anybody heard anything from juiliard at this point?
  4. I saw someone posted on the results page a Hunter acceptance on Mar 15th! Congrats to whoever that is! & if you are willing to come out of being anonymous, I would love to ask a question about it! feel free to dm me if youd like!
  5. I just received an interview request for Hunter! Not sure if they are sending them out in rounds, but it had interview slots available through mid-march, so my guess is their decisions may be a bit on the later side this year. Hope others are getting good news as well!
  6. has anybody heard anything at this point from brooklyn or hunter?
  7. I applied to Juilliard as well, as far as I can tell it seems like they are typically much later with things than other programs, like acceptances not coming until April, so it'll probably be a while before any news at all from them!
  8. Congrats on the UCLA interview, exciting!! Fingers crossed!
  9. I applied to Hunter, haven't heard anything yet. As far as I can tell based on the past we are probably still within the window where interview requests can be coming, so holding out hope I guess?
  10. Congrats on applying for this round of applications! I agree with what others have said about timeline, as far as I can tell from past experience and spending a lot of time stalking this page. Last year, I got two interview requests and they came on February 20th and 24th. It was a pretty quick turnaround from the request to the actual interview, then back to the waiting game until mid-March. To your question about other websites, I checked out twitter a bit last year! Saw a small community of writers on there who were posting about acceptances, rejections, and interview requests, but it was definitely less centralized and harder to come across than this site. There is also a similar forum to this one for screenwriting, so if any of your applications are to programs crossed with screenwriting, check that out as well. Good luck! Hopefully we all hear good news soon.
  11. hello all! this is my second year applying -- last year went okay, but funding was an issue. i guess we'll see how things go this time around! this year, i only applied to hunter, brooklyn, and juilliard. fingers crossed, hoping for good news for everybody here! also -- i am always so curious on this forum what people's script submissions are about, if anybody feels like sharing to entertain ourselves while waiting i would love to hear about your work
  12. hello to all who are reapplying! i did several applications last year, and had a little bit of success -- ending up not being able to attend the one place i was admitted because of cost, and did not make it off a waitlist for another. i'm living in ny right now and not really prepared to move, so i'm thinking of applying for a couple programs i could stay local for. i applied to juilliard a few weeks ago (didn't apply there last time around!), and i'm thinking of applying for hunter and brooklyn again. i have a question for those who have done this before though! i don't have new people to write letters of rec for me, is it bad for an application to send the same ones? i feel like that's probably bad, but i don't really have too much of an alternative right now. would love to hear if anyone has any insights on this!
  13. i recently received an acceptance to nyu's dramatic writing program! but the financial situation is pretty tricky for me. as a first time applicant to grad programs, im not totally sure how to navigate that - does anyone have advice about trying to negotiate with financial aid offices?
  14. not judgmental at all, we've all gotta approach this weird and stressful process from our own angles! and congratulations about columbia, very exciting!!
  15. might be a little pessimistic, but i have personally been assuming that it'll be a rejection from everywhere i haven't heard from at this point. ultimately, who can really say if timelines are just later this year! but i like having concrete information to operate on, and for me personally i'd rather assume the worst based on lack of hearing anything than keep feeling stuck in waiting limbo with no clue how it'll work out. i hope everybody else is hanging in there!
