I thought academia presumed "smart individuals"... Okay, at least "polite individuals"... But this is terrible. I emailed some of the programs - no response. I called - they told me to SEND THEM AN EMAIL [some of my puke reaches the bottom of my throat when I hear "send us an email"...] I send THEM an email - no response. Okay, I get it: I have to wait. Deal. Great. Awesome. Delicious! But! I have paid the ffffqn fee (and I know I sound like a Karen now) - but why can you not just answer with a "very soon" or "on the 5th of March"? Why does this all have to be such a badly managed process? "A university" means "educated individuals," doesn't it? Now, what's wrong with all this waiting and ignoring people's emails? Send us an email, my ass...

People, have we had any news from Northwestern U? My portal is just idle - and it has been looking the same since the day I clicked that "submit" button. I saw a few people were admitted a couple of weeks ago or so, but have we had any rejects?

Nyce! I have applied for the M.A. with the same department, and a week ago when I called them, they told me that the M.A. applications will be reviewed after all Ph.D. ones. Have they also sent you any financial/stipend info?

1. I have applied for three one-year programs (PoliSci, IR, and Envir.) 2. Straight out of undergrad, qualitative (which is terrible for PoliSci these days, but oh well), one co-authored paper, one conference paper, top-1 university in my country. And you? Which programs have you applied for and what are your stats?

Wow, the predominant number of the grad schools you have targeted are the best in the field of PoliSci. Even though this is not entirely the case with me (some schools I have applied to are wayyyyy far out of the top 20-30 range), I have so far seen just three rejections - and that's it. The good thing is, THERE IS TIME. Plenty of it. Good things are coming our way, I am sure. We just need patience. Patience is the key.
