  1. I would go to UCSD. A friend went to Austin and had an "eh" time in the Painting MFA but now they have a good job at the University. In general I think 3 years is a better deal. Austin is not as expensive as San Diego but it isn't cheap to live there either.

  11. Hi found out today i was rejected from Tulane (painting).
  12. My Tulane interview was pretty casual. They asked the regular interview questions. I think the program is really small from what I gather. The faculty who interviewed me were friendly. I hope you hear back!
  13. i heard i was accepted to UT Knoxville (painting) yesterday via phone call but unfortunately not with funding...so no GTA although maybe I can apply for an Assistantship in another dept outside of Art. rejected from wisconsin accepted to U of Iowa! waiting to hear from: OSU, UIC (assuming rejection from both of those schools) and SUNY Buffalo and Tulane (interviewed).

HELLO anyone have any advice or know what the deal is...can admitted students bargain for higher stipends for funded programs? i was admitted to one school but the stipend i was offered for TAing is pretty unlivable...but I don't want to seem unappreciative but I am not independently wealthy. thank you!

  20. Oh I should say I received a request for an interview from University of Iowa on Thursday. Also I attended Hunter's BFA program and they don't interview for MFAs until March is my understanding. Thanks

  24. HI! i have an interview coming up and was wondering if anyone has any good questions to ask during the interview about their MFA program? I don't really even know where to begin since I basically go off what the website to get information about each school's specific MFA program. also, has anyone heard from SUNY Buffalo or University of Illinois Chicago yet? i applied to OSU and Wisconsin for painting and haven't heard anything and I see some have been interviewed and even accepted so...that leads me to believe that I am not in the running. good luck everyone!
