    As an international student applying to UC programs, I find that UC Irvine and UCLA has admitted only American students in this cycle so far. I am wondering if it the concurrent funding issue is influencing international student admission in public schools this cycle? What do yall think?

    It seems results start coming in today - can any one confirm the UC Irvine interview I see on the results page? I also applied and I did not get anything today, so I am very anxious at the moment. Apparently most news should be out in these two weeks! wow

    I see they have extended their deadline to Dec 8: We understand that our December 1 deadline coincided with the end of the Thanksgiving weekend this year, which might have led to unduly difficulty for some to submit the applications in time. After some consideration, we decided to extend our deadline to December 8 to avoid any holiday and travel related scheduling conflicts. Please rest assured that all applications submitted by December 8 will receive full consideration by the UCLA admission committee.

    Just submitted my applications, but I am still waiting for my recommenders to send out letters. Should I be worried that I submitted applications without their letters? Is it true that they will have a different dealine from mine?

    Hi - There haven't been any official updates yet. I received an email notifying me of my rejection while I would imagine others must have got their unofficial admission through the email too. Portal is yet to be updated.

    Hi forum! As I am starting to receive more rejections from various Ph.D. programs, I am really starting to positively distracting myself by exploring other opportunities such as master programs that can put me in a better position for future Ph.D. applications. Ideally, I am more interested in funded Master programs in order to better prepare my financial conditions before pursuing further education, however, I am more than glad to learn about research or job positions that can similarly prepare me for future studies. Personally, I am an international student so visa sponsorship does matters, but others reading this thread may benefit from other suggestions, so please post if you have information about those as well! I am currently looking at UChicago MAPSS and UCLA MASS, as I heard they are the two big ones.

    @zh_awk and @whyamIhere, Thank you for your kind words! I contacted Brown University DGS and they said that this year Brown is releasing admission decisions on a rolling basis, and I should hear from them in a week. I submitted my application closer to the deadline, so it would make perfect sense although I am really unsure about what the final decision may be.

    I just got an email to check portal from WashU St.Louis and it was a rejection. This is my first admission decision received in this application season. Have anyone here been accepted to the school? Surprisingly though, I have applied to UCI and Brown who released their decisions earlier but went really quiet on me - they didn't send out anything at all for me yet.

    Hi!! I am again in the same situation as you are in. I saw rejections showing up this morning and think I am getting mine soon in the afternoon but so far nothing I have received yet! I hope some final decisions from Brown can come asap...

    Hello; One of my LOR writers recently suggested me to look at some MA programs that is still open for application as some backup plans. I figure this is also a great distractor or a positive relieve strategy for people like me who have not heard of anything from PhD programs yet. I also want to hear your suggestions: what are some good Master programs still out there?

    I saw on results updates that UCI sociology are starting to do their interviews and sending out emails. I wonder if all the interview emails are sent today, or would the process extend into a few more days? I am really worried to see them popping up with today's date and I have not really get one in my mailbox.
