  1. Nope. I got nothing
  2. Praying to the BU gods that we’ll hear something today ????
  3. Alright who’s claiming that brown acceptance
  4. My mentor told me that if I wanted to do a PhD, he would spend 2 hours telling me how awful it is and then if at the end of it I agreed that it was awful and still wanted to do it, then I was allowed to lmao
  5. Hopefully we get some good news tomorrow (BU WHERE ARE YOU??) but at this point I might pass out if I keep holding my breath
  6. I got the email and also got excited. I didn’t even apply there lmao
  7. Oh my goodness yes so expensive. Preparing for and taking the GRE alone was close to $750 and then an average of $100 in app fees per school… legit criminal
  8. Lmao I only applied to nine and thought I was dying
  9. Fingers crossed for today ?? you are all stars and we got this
  10. Oh really? For Poli sci? Mine still says under review
  11. Try to relax this weekend, everyone! Do something that makes you happy and I would suggest putting your phone down for a little. We have to be well rested for how crazy next week is gearing up to be lmao ???
  12. Northeastern is releasing the third week of February most likely (per an email I got). BU could be today? maybe? And Rutgers probably not until mid feb either
  13. Never assume you’re rejected. You are not rejected until they tell you that you are
  14. I still haven’t heard from any of my schools ?? I’m too type A for this waiting shit lmao
  15. BC will probably be this week too if anyone else applied there
  16. Same. The wait is making me lose my mind
  17. Yeah generally starts Jan 21-22ish
  18. Idk, this is actually historically quite late for BU
  19. Good luck out there today folks
  20. Looks like no BU decisions today ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  21. BU will be my first too. BC should be soon-ish as well
  22. Almost certainly won’t hurt, but don’t expect responses. It’s a busy time of year:)
  23. From what I understand, it really depends on the school and the department. It is much less common to do in social sciences and humanities, and I’ve even heard of faculty being a bit annoyed by it. I think reaching out to faculty that you really have parallel research interests with is a good idea just to pick their brain if they have time, but I don’t think you need to email someone from all of your schools to be successful.
