I got accepted to SFU on March 24th. My GPA is a 3.53 and I come from a health sciences background. I have two qualitative public health research projects under my belt as a research assistant. I'm in honours so I got to do an honours thesis. I work as a clinical assistant at a clinic and volunteer at the hospital as well and I'm president of a cultural club on campus just a brief summary but hope it helps

I think for me it comes down to distance from home, living cost, and school reputation. I'm from Calgary so Edmonton is close to home if I ever wanna drive down to see family and friends. Edmonton is more affordable compared to Vancouver (but I would have been willing to pay the price if I got into UBC), and UofA is just overall a more reputable school and ranked higher and I've heard good things about the program (not to say SFU's program isn't amazing also, I could've sworn SFU is the only accredited program in Canda). Yeah I agree they definitely got hundreds of applications, just us really eager applicants got on grad cafe. UofA doesn't let in just anyone so if you got in you are definitely highly qualified

Don't worry you got this! I thought the first round went out too but I think a second round went out on Friday cuz two people I know got in the first round, and then myself and another person I know got in on Friday. But mind you all of the people I know who got in (including myself) are waiting on schools like UBC and UofT so not only have they sent out all the offers but even of those who have gotten offers some may give up their spots

Got into UofA's general MPH this Friday! Waiting for UBC and SFU still :)))))

Thanks for this, I'm waiting for UofA amongst other schools like UBC and SFU so I guess I just have to wait till mid April since the first round of admissions have gone out :////

Hey don't stress lol, mine says the exact same thing and I just interpreted it as we were given temporary accounts that expire in a month but if we become students we'll get full access. I'm worried but we'll see what happens

Hey yeah that's fine, the first initial stage of review is them ensuring you meet all requirements before they begin to assess your application (GPA, uploaded all the files you needed to etc), from there they'll begin reviewing our applications. We got this!!
