  1. Finally heard back from Bloomberg that it was a 'no' for this year. Had my fingers crossed that it might workout since my decision came a bit later than some others. But alas! I think this pushes me towards accepting the UNMC Epi offer. It seems like a really solid program, good faculty, and the opportunity for enviro health electives. Good luck to all those who are still waiting on decisions!
  2. I would suggest possibly following up with program B and asking if it would be alright to check on your place on the waitlist - this might help you decide how to proceed from there. If your #1-5 on the list that might be a different choice than #10+. You could even explain that this is your program of choice but that program B was hoping to have a decision prior to the deadline for program A. Alternatively (or in addition) - you could reach out to program A and let them know that you look forward to the opportunity to attend but that there is another program which may not reach out regarding waitlist admits until April 15, and that although you would be happy to matriculate into program A that if it were possible to delay your decision you would like to wait until all possible acceptances have been received to make an informed decision. I am also waiting on information from another program before committing to UNMC - fortunately they have guaranteed that information will be available by end of this week, but it is hard to have things feel so up in the air. Good luck!
  3. Sorry to hear that for you 😕 I know it can feel incredibly discouraging (I've been there), hope you take some time for a bit of self care and that next cycle is a success with everything you've learned through this one.
  4. Thanks! I've been pretty relaxed about the process this year, but now feeling a little stressed having not heard anything one way or another, just checked my application again to make sure it actually got submitted. Appreciate the info
  5. That is incredible!! So excited for you, what a great accomplishment 🎉 (edit - just out of curiosity, did you get a personal email or programmatic template type email?)
  6. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! They gave a deadline to accept/decline by April 1. Seems a little early, but perhaps that is so they have time to extend offers to other individuals before the 4/15 deadline. Not sure exactly what stats are most helpful but I got my MPH in epi about 5 years ago and have worked in my current job about 5 years as a program manager - it is a very environmental science/public health focused group at a university. Prior to this job I worked in clinical research for about 5 years at the same institution. So 10 years total of health/science related work and 5 years of applied public health work. Mid-30s. I'm credited as an author on 4 publications, none of them as first author and all of them from my time in clinical work so I'm not sure that played much of a factor. A decent amount of posters/presentations that are a mix of clinical/public health. I have tried to do one professional development course/workshop each year dedicated to public health (a summer institute course at JHU, a public health bootcamp at Columbia) which perhaps helps. Not sure if any of that is helpful, but if there is anything else I'm happy to share. I hope that you hear back from your school(s) soon!
  7. Sorry to hear that 😕 I can't even imagine how many applications they get, and it's a tough wait - but glad that you are accepted and still able to go! Would you mind sharing who the email came from? I haven't received anything yet either and am not holding my breath, but thought I would double check searching my inbox in case it got sent to another folder.
  8. Congrats, that's great! A relief to have one lined up at least I also noted that Apr 1 deadline - I thought it was 4/15 everywhere. Perhaps if you haven't heard anything from JHU they will tell you your position on the waitlist at least as the 1st approaches, and that might help.
  9. I just received notice of admission email from University of Nebraska DrPH for the epidemiology concentration. Hope the few others I know of on here waiting hear positive news also I am holding miniscule hope for a Bloomberg fellowship - but otherwise will most likely accept the UNMC offer, it is a great alternative for me and much more affordable.
  10. Nothing over here yet either! Definitely on high alert for the email notifications. Hopefully won't be too much longer.
  11. I got an email regarding the fellowship on March 15 last year. Reapplied this year, so hoping it comes out at least around the same time this year.
  12. I'm hoping that they are just giving the latest possible date, just in case - but that decisions will come a bit earlier. fingers crossed 🤞 Good luck to you as well
  13. I received the decision on the Bloomberg Fellowship on March 15 last year (didn't get it!). I decided to defer my acceptance to the program a year and apply for the fellowship one more time - incredibly slim chances, but worth a shot. I also applied to Nebraska this year, so in the event funding does not work out for JHU again I am hoping to be accepted to UNMC since it is a more affordable program. And in that event, I will withdraw admission to JHU and hope that someone on the waitlist can take that place instead!
  14. Yes, I got that email as well. Someone on here had heard back from them regarding preliminary review a couple of weeks ago because they submitted earlier. I didn't get mine submitted until 1/31. I'm hoping the April 15th is an 'under promise/over deliver' type of thing and that they get decision out a little sooner. But we'll see!
