  1. No news here either from UNMC. I'm hoping they are just behind schedule, especially if the admissions director was out of the office for a couple of days. It seems like at least one of us would have heard something if they had started extending offers?
  2. Congrats on the acceptance to MCW!! Crossing fingers for an acceptance to UNMC Advocacy and Leadership!
  3. Sorry to hear about the Bloomberg fellowship, but glad you have a great offer from UNMC Epi - congrats!
  4. Congratulations! I think the choice will depend in part on your career goals. If you want to get a leadership role in U.S. public health policy / government or make connections with large multilateral organizations (WHO, etc.) or international NGOs, the GW program is well positioned to help you do that. It's a large, well-known public health school and probably has a good alumni network. The GW program is expensive and cost of living in DC is high, so it may not be worth the added price tag if the UGA DrPH program is an equally good fit for you. I don't know much about the UGA program, but I imagine they have some connections to the CDC (though are likely competing with Emory in that regard) if you are looking to stay in communicable disease control. I would suggest to talk with current students at both programs to get a sense for which would be a better fit.
  5. FYI to JHU DrPH waitlist folks: I was originally waitlisted for the Implementation Science track and just received an acceptance this morning. Received an email to check the portal for an update on my application, and saw the updated letter of acceptance. Fingers crossed for everyone as it appears they are starting to extend offers to waitlisted folks as initial declines come in.
  6. I'm so sorry to hear this news. I was hoping that everyone who got to the interview stage would be accepted...
  7. Congrats! Same here, I also received my USF acceptance email around 11:50am ET.
  8. Thank you @mandycandy - this is incredibly helpful to know! Given how competitive DrPH program admissions are for many programs, I wish more programs would share admitted students stats like this in their info sessions for prospective students. It would be really helpful for potential applicants to get a more realistic sense of what the admissions committee is actually looking for in terms of work experience (on average), not just the minimums stated on program websites.
  9. I'm so sorry to hear this. You have been such a kind and encouraging presence on the forum, and I wish you all the best in your public health journey, including if you decide to apply again next cycle!
  10. Appreciate this perspective -- it gives all of us some hope for movement on the waitlist! For JHU DrPH, I think several people apply for the Bloomberg fellowship as their primary source of funding, so if they don't get the fellowship, some might decline their spot or defer admission for a year to try again for the fellowship funding.
  11. My colleague is in the JHU DrPH program and she heard that they admitted 110 students this year. I think most years it is in the 100-110 range, with varying numbers in each concentration.
  12. I just emailed UNMC admissions today about their timeline. They said the reviewers for the Advocacy and Leadership concentration are hoping to have decisions by April 1, with the admissions office communicating decisions soon afterward. So hopefully we will hear something in the beginning of April, at least for that concentration (not sure about the other two concentrations).
  13. Long time lurker here. I was waitlisted for JHU DrPH - Implementation Science concentration. Checked the portal around 2:30pm and saw the status was updated. No interview. Good luck to all those still waiting!
