Hi !! Updates on Yale : rejected (I did an interview two weeks ago I think ?) Updates from future supervisor at McGill : I'm iiiiin !!! So so cet glad !!! It was my number 1 choice ! No news from Princeton yet but however it goes I'm going to McGill !

Hi ! I had an interview for Yale something like three weeks ago and didn't hear anything back, had a weird message from a POI at McGill and do not understand if I'm in or not haha - so let's just wait, we all got this !!

Congrats !! Can I ask you who your POI / supervisor was ? McGill was my very first choice and I didn't have any answer after the interviews, so really crushed right now haha Thank you so much and well done !!

You know, it might be a slightly different process then because I applied to their other combine program with the Yale School of Environment, and they did say that interviews were held separately by the professors, even though the email I received came from the DGS and seemed to be a general one aimed at various students. I honestly hope you hear back from them ! Wouldn't hurt to contact the DGS I guess ? Wishing you all the best, and thank you for your kind words.

Also : the email was in my spam and very VERY weirdly written, with weird spacing, so at first I brushed it off and deleted it and only came back to check two days after this - it was from the DGS, not the professors themselves.

Sure ! Two people from the Department, both my first and third potential supervisors choices (I had mentioned them in my SOP, and quoted one of them haha). If you want to message me don't hesitate !

Hi ! I honestly recommend Cambridge University (UK) and in France, I second ShowroomDummy and highly praise the EHESS - graduated from there in Social Anthropology (MA) but the IR program is really strong as well + the way the department works is really nice, you can take seminars from any discipline and PhDs are really short in France (3 years) which can be an asset if you don't want to study forever SciencePo has a great reputation, but honestly, from an academic POV, doesn't live up to its reputation. You might consider it however for the various possibilities of foreign exchanges if that's something you're looking for ! SciencePo will be more strict on residency, and the EHESS way more flexible, also things to consider. The INALCO is amazing if what really matters for you is a strong regional focus, and maybe a very peculiar set of local languages or local politics.

Hi ! Yes that was me, answering you on this thread since it's probably more useful here I do not know if Yale has ended their interview process or not, what I do k now is that as you said I was invited for an interview last Monday, on the 30th, and they said that they were going to do several more interviews that week (i.e. last week) and maybe this week as well (but I can't remember exactly !). What they DID say is that they would take a long take to get back to us, and that we would receive answers round mid-February / beginning of March / mid-March for some of us. I hope this helps ! Then again, and I don't know if this is helpful or not but : I had NOT contacted any potential supervisors before applying to Yale so maybe that's why they interviewed me ? And maybe they don't do interviews with people they have already been in touch with ? All the best to everyone out there x Stressful times indeed ! P.S. : Someone else posted about Princeton as well I think, I'm also in the no-interview group for that one haha !

On another note : anyone applied to Princeton and did not hear back from them / or did an interview ? Should I cross that one off my list haha ?

Had an interview last Monday (30th of January) for the Department of Social Anthropology ! From what I understood, it will take them some time now to come to a decision and they should get back to us by the end of February, beginning of March. Fingers crossed for everyone !!
