Congratulations to everyone hearing good news this week and sending lots of support and encouragement to those who are feeling disappointed by this process! I can see a rejection from Iowa now through the application portal, but still haven't received a letter. Is anyone else in the same boat? Should I still expect a letter?

Do people really do this? And does it affect their reputation in the MFA/writing community?

Sorry to hear this! I hope you're taking care of yourself in light of this news! Would you mind sharing when the letter was dated? Trying to prepare for when I might get something in the mail.

I'm also assuming they're done, sadly. I would like to know how the waitlist process works for Iowa as well if anyone on here is familiar.

Congratulations! Those are both big accomplishments. With or without family to share the news with, I hope you are taking time to celebrate and do something nice for yourself! :) Would you mind sharing when you heard about your Iowa fiction acceptance and if you have a sense of whether all acceptances have gone out?

I haven't seen any IWW poetry notifications yet.

Thank you for explaining that, @lanadelreystan! I had seen that IWW staggers responses, but was feeling apprehensive about remaining hopeful, so I wanted to see what others here thought. Keeping my fingers crossed for others still waiting to hear back!

Hi everyone! This is my first application cycle and I have been benefitting greatly from reading all of your responses in this thread! I know that two IWW fiction acceptances have been posted in the MFA Draft Facebook group. As acceptances seem to have gone out on Monday and Tuesday this week, does that mean that those who haven't heard have been either waitlisted or rejected at this point?
