Does anyone know if UVA is interviewing their top choice candidates this year? They did last year, but I don’t see anything on their website for this round.
-
I’m assuming they’re still moving down the list, but are any other folks still waiting on the JHU rejection email? Also, anyone with info on UC Riverside? It looks like they released results around this time last year. Thank you!!!

Last year I got my rejection in March, so they’re really early this year. Maybe they rushed more than they’d meant to?
-
Apparently some people who never applied recieved rejections, which is wild to me
-
That’s probably good news! I think they do their rejections in waves, so you may be onto the next round.
-
Boston just emailed out a wave of rejections, fiction & poetry
-
It was like this for me last year too—my name is at the end of the alphabet and I got my rejection a couple hours after other people. Looks like it’ll be the same this year. (Shows how many applicants they get that the rejection process takes so long 😂)

JHU poetry rejections are going out now based on draft. So fiction will probably be out by this time next week if the week delay holds true for us as well

Offhand, the only school I know that labels it as an immediate requirement is Brown—for the rest you should have time to get it figured out! The new FAFSA is really glitchy and bad so delays shouldn’t count against you. I couldn’t remember my password originally, but could use the recovery questions to unlock the account. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly for you!

Agreed—people forget that there’s only one administrative coordinator for a lot of these programs. That person is responsible for communicating grad decisions, helping current grad students, coordinating undergrads and ANY other departmental stuff going on. Add on the number of applications and it’s an overwhelming position. The fact that they can make and communicate decisions in less than two months considering the number of applicants is genuinely astounding and shows how fricken hard everyone on their end (staff, faculty, students, etc) are working. I’ve been in a hiring position before and going through 40 applicants with only two pieces of material (a cover letter and resume) took like 6 weeks in order to fairly assess everyone and narrow down to one candidate. Now imagine how much harder that is for hundreds. It seems to be really normal for rejections to lag behind acceptances by 1-2 weeks and JHU literally just released their results. It sucks to be rejected, but there’s no malice behind it ya’ll.

Someone just reported a JHU fiction rejection on the draft spreadsheet. My portal hasn’t been updated yet, but I figure it’s a matter of time. Ah well.

Oregon State fiction and poetry. Colorado State nonfiction seems to be released as of like a minute ago. And that’s everything for draft so far today!
-
I think playwriting is handled by a different set of faculty, so could definitely be that! I know the theater programs have had a lot more movement since more of them do interviews I think.
-
I only see Oregon having notified today on draft. Where are you seeing this one?

I wouldn’t 100% trust singular results posted here without someone else backing it up (either with their own result or responses from the draft group.) Last year’s page had a couple of trolls that posted fake acceptances to freak people out. As far as I can see Vandy hasn’t sent responses and we’re still early for Iowa. Iowa will call people individually and then snail mail out rejections—they called 1-2 people a week once they started so it was easy to tell it was official and current students in the group could back up which faculty were making calls. (I’m by no means an expert, but this is my second year applying and the trolls haven’t changed at all lol.) Draft admins are mostly current students that are doing this on a volunteer basis, and its clear they’re working super hard to keep everything running. I know the waiting sucks, believe me, but tbh any results from draft filter here pretty quickly.

Is anyone else still waiting to hear from BU?
-
Has anyone for fiction heard yet, or is it just poetry at the moment?
-
According to Draft UMD is notifying now
-
has anyone heard anything from UVA? i’m assuming the radio silence means i have another rejection lined up 🥲
