Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! On March 27th I received an offer of admission to the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus for the MSW Advanced Standing program! It was my number one choice, so I could not be more thrilled and have already accepted the offer! I just wondered if anyone else is planning on attending UBCO for their MSW programs this fall? If so, I would love to connect!

Not yet...anxiously waiting. My friend heard back last year early April!

I have also applied to both UBCV and UBCO and have heard nothing yet.

Hello there! I am also with you both. Feeling very discouraged but also holding on to hope as it is common for universities to send out acceptances on a rolling basis! I also applied to Mental Health and Health as my first choice and Gerontology as my second. If we do not hear today, I am sure we will hear tomorrow or in the upcoming week!

Hello everyone! Yesterday, I received an acceptance from U Manitoba for the Advanced Standing MSW program! Much earlier than I had initially expected and they are only giving until March 4th to accept or reject the acceptance. I just wondered how people get around this, when you have not heard from other schools you have applied for (e.g., U Manitoba is not my top choice school and I want to see if I get accepted into other schools, but I also do not want to lose my place for the MSW program in Manitoba). Any thoughts on this?

Submitted my applications to University of Toronto (Advanced Standing) and University of British Columbia Vancouver today!

I thought the exact same thing when submitting my application for UManitoba! There is no other written submission, however! Just the Area of Specialization statement. It definitely feels wrong only writing 250 words when most other programs require 1000-2000 words! 🤭

Hello everyone! This forum was so incredibly helpful to me and my applications last year, so I was so happy to see their being a forum already for Fall 2024! Last year I applied to both University of Toronto (Advanced Standing) and Toronto Metropolitan University — I was waitlisted from UOFT and sadly rejected from Toronto Met. However, I believe it was of my best interest, as I have been taken this year to work directly in community services and gain so much more experience. I feel as though my applications are already coming out much stronger. I graduated from my BSW from McMaster University June 2023 — so I am still fairly young and inexperienced compared to other applicants, which worries me. However, I always get reassurance from here with others in similar situations! This year I am applying to the following universities for my MSW: University of Manitoba (Submitted — Awaiting Review) Dalhousie University (Submitted — Awaiting Review) University of Toronto (Advanced Standing) University of British Columbia (Okanagan and Vancouver) McMaster University I have already submitted my applications for both Manitoba and Dalhousie, however any additional support and/or tips would be extremely welcomed. I will also be sure to come back here and post the decisions once they have been made in the early spring months, next year! Goodluck to everyone applying for the first time or reapplying!

Hello Has anyone that has been waitlisted for University of Toronto's full time MSW stream heard anything back? Or if anyone knows the timeline of when waitlisted individuals will hear anything? Anxiously awaiting.

Hello everyone! Congrats on your acceptances! I got a status update yesterday informing me that I was waitlisted at UofT for the full-time advanced standing program. I applied to Health/Mental Health and Children/Families. It hurts really hard not being accepted and I am trying not to lose hope. Does anyone know the approximate timeline for when people on the waitlist will hear back? Do many people even decline their offers? I am far from Toronto and am considering housing options downtown. Knowing an estimate of when I will hear back would be extremely helpful due to the fact that I would need to find housing. Do you know if it often takes until September to hear back?
