  1. I second this. I am approaching my second residency in Sewanee; faculty members set up multiple meetings throughout the term, but meeting with them is never a bad idea, even for a quick chat or question. Building the relationship is important, as you will have some faculty advising you on your thesis. Express any questions/concerns you may have. I remember feeling nervous about talking to the program director before I arrived (and even in that first week or so). By the end of my first residency, we would run into each other multiple times throughout the week for coffee or at the library. Build relationships! Foster community! Those things are just as important as your studies. Best of luck to you!
  2. Congrats! I'm finishing my Undergrad there currently. It's a great program, and I've worked with several of the professors in the Creative Writing Department. Minneapolis is a great place for writers. The Loft Literary Center, Downtown on Washington Ave, will be a place you want to check out. Happy writing! 😃
  3. Congratulations! You will probably work with Elissa Washuta. She is phenomenal! Also, to your point on changing genres: I whole heartedly agree. Plus, Cross-genre & dual genre are getting more popular in MFA programs. Best of luck at Ohio State!
  4. Was notified of my acceptance to Sewanee (Poetry) on Tuesday, 3/21. This is for Summer 2023 Residency. Anyone here get in and plan on going?
  5. I got my acceptance from Sewanee on Tuesday, 3/21. It's for Poetry. Has anyone else heard anything back from them?
