  1. Braindead (funny forum name :)) I sent an e-mail to admissions to ask if they are making a separate decision for the IFP. I will let you know if get anything from them.

Congratulations! Even I applied for the IFP but my letter didn't say anything about the IFP. So I am assuming I didn't get the IFP.

  2. Italianstudent2, I don't know if you are an international student or not but I guess if I were to give you an advice...may I suggest that you switch these classes to a CREDIT/NO CREDIT or PASS/FAIL grading basis on your transcript. That way, it would not have any effect on your overall GPA or transcript..just saying. I am not sure how your school system works but if indeed you do withdraw from these classes, I don't think that should have any issue with the schools admitting you. It is your personal choice and if they ask you questions about it, I do hope that you already have a valid or reasonable reason as to why you withdrew from these classes. I don't think it should be a problem. The other thing you could do is contact the schools and see if they will have any concerns with you withdrawing from these classes. Good luck

and,if yes, could i make it up enrolling in these courses during summer session? as i've mentioned before these are 2 courses that i don't need in order to graduate.

  3. Thanks for your posts guys! Yes, I am in Africa right now but I am guessing they sent my letter to my sister's address in the US since I put that as my temporary address. I have to call my sister then and hopefully the lady at the Goldman School will e-mail me back as well. Hopefully I will see you folks in Cali (although I am not sure how much money I got, if any :))

Yeah, I would guess the same thing. If you haven't been dinged by email and you got that other email, then I would think you are in. Why would they send an invitation for "newly admitted students" to you if you hadn't been admitted?

  4. I have a question....I got an e-mail regarding the open house for admit students yesterday however I have not received an e-mail for a ding or an official letter in the mail saying that I was admitted to the program (I am an international student from Africa). Is this good news that I got in? Maybe? Perhaps? Or am I just getting myself excited for something that is not actually true. Oh well, just hoping and wishing. I sent an e-mail to Jalilah Labrie asking her if I got in though :( Fingers crossed......

  5. I got in as well. International student here from Nigeria! No funding though :( I am happy to get in though. I was wondering, did anyone apply for the International Fellows Program? I am curious to know if they have a different notification for people who applied or is this already part of the official decision. Oh well, time for me to celebrate....I will pray for the other folks on this forum to get in. Good luck.

wow - Ive been a silent reader of the forum for ever - it was comforting to know that I wasn't the only one suffering from the neurosis that characterizes waiting for decisions. I'm so unhappy to be one of the 35% that's still waiting....this could potentially go on for at least 10 days...and in this alternate universe of waiting, thats a lifetime. Congratulations to folks with the admits!

    *sigh*

  6. Ah okay, thanks for the hint. Well, it is already 7.30pm here in my world but I know you are referring to 4.25 pm EST....argghhhh. The waiting continues.

Yes, I was admitted last year and deferred. I thought the sentence following plus my signature clarified things, but apologies for for my twisted/odd sense of humor. :)

Although I guess this is a good chance to shed light on what everyone should expect. I got an email on 3/4/2010 (a Thursday) at 4:25pm, instructing me to log into the online application, where there's a link to the admissions letter, a copy of which was also sent to my physical address.

If past years are any indication, I guess that means that you'll all be receiving notification any minute now, with a delay for those being considered for first-year fellowships.

  7. Yes, I heard back from NYU about my admission on 2/26 around 7.30 pm EST. I don't know if this has to do with the fact that I applied for their fellowships since fellowship finalists are suppose to hear back by February and the rest of the decisions are posted by March 15th. I hope this helps.....Good luck
