Very interesting, thanks for sharing! For photo, they already told me to expect the interview to be around 45 minutes! I've already talked to the chair extensively at an info session and he's really nice, so I'm not too worried.

Just got offered an interview with Tyler Photo! It'll be next Sunday.

I just got an interview request with UC Davis!!! They're basically asking me to create a mini presentation on one work with questions they've given me- and I have to present it in less than ten minutes! Sorta wild but I'm so excited!

Interesting! I applied for Photo, and all I've gotten so far is an email from the chair twelve days ago that basically said that going through applications would take some time and to be patient. I'm assuming the other Photo applicants all got the same email. Maybe they're running behind?

Did they do an interview first?

I applied to New Mexico and Arizona and haven't heard anything. I saw that in a previous year someone was interviewed by Arizona on February 3rd, so we probably still have a bit of time to wait. When did you see people hearing back from New Mexico? If the posts were really old I sort of disregarded them, just because a lot could've changed in the department since then.

I think it depends on the program. Some form admissions committees with current students. I know the University of Minnesota does.

I also have this urge but I don't want to ask too much of my recommenders. Two of them finished my recs months ago and the third had trouble getting them all in as it is. Thinking that it's just easier to stick with the original plan.
