  1. Do you mind telling us which program you have been accepted to? I received an email rejection from University of Chicago today
  2. FYI: There's an 'interview' post on the results page for Northwestern Kellogg M&O program. So I guess they've also started interviewing!
  3. My back up option is to get a Masters and apply again next year.. Let's hope I don't need to do that!
  4. Congrats on PSU! Do you mind sharing your profile? I have still not heard from any of the schools (other than the rejection from Berkeley)! Maybe I should have applied to more schools.. Something tells me I might need to go through this torture again next year
  5. Me too Just received the email! 1 down.. 10 more to go!
  6. That IS a lot of schools! and congrats for your interviews! FYI: I just saw 2 rejections for Haas M&O on the results page.. I think I just skipped a heartbeat! So freaking nervous!!
  7. It's good to see more Mgmt/OB applicants here! Here's a list of schools I've applied to: Columbia Cornell - Johnson MIT - Sloan Berkeley - Haas Northwestern - Kellogg Chicago - Booth NYU - Stern WUSTL - Olin I've also applied to 2 other PhD programs (non OB ones) and 2 Masters programs. I haven't heard back from ANYONE!! Would love to hear more about where drmo & ApplicationsTakeTwo have applied
  8. Thank! All the best for your interview Do post here if you hear from any other schools!
  9. Thanks! I just received an email saying my application has been received and is complete. Although it also said that the results will be out only in mid-end March The wait is killing me! Have you heard from any of the other schools you've applied to?
  10. Hey.. I've applied to the management programs as well.. Haven't heard back from any of the 8 schools I applied to! I also wanted to ask you if you received a confirmation email from Columbia? I received a confirmation email (one that confirms your application has been "submitted" and then one that confirms it has been "received") from every other school except Columbia. It does say "Application Submitted" when I log in though. Thanks and all the best!
  11. Hey, Thanks for your evaluation. I forgot to mention my gre score: 800Q 600V 4.0AWa And I'm working on the sop Thanks a ton!
  12. Hi, I am applying to various masters programs in Econ for fall 2011 and would really appreciate it if anyone is willing to evaluate my profile. I wish to do a PhD immediately after my masters Ugrad: Economics and Mechanical Engineering (double degree from a highly reputed Engineering college in my country) GPA: 7.8/10 Econ GPA: 8.9/10 RecoLetters: Two from Econ (average), One from Management prof (good) SOP: Haven't started writing yet (I know I need to hurry!) Research Interests: Behavioral and Experimental Economics Research work: Nothing published. One project on behavioral economics, undergrad thesis at Carnegie Mellon Univ (to be completed in my final semester) Experience: 6 months internship at the top economic policy research organization in my country Things that matter: Reputation of the college Things that don't matter: Funding Although I am applying to NYU (MA), Duke (MA), Oxford (MPhil) and Cambridge (MPhil) as well, I don't think I stand a chance at Oxbridge and I am not too keen on NYU and Duke. Any suggestions on where else I should applying? I would be thankful to anyone willing to comment on my chances of getting through LSE as I think the MSc Econ there would be a perfect stepping stone to a PhD in the US Thanks!
  13. Hi, I am in a similar position. Looking for a one year MSc/MA/MPhil in Economics before I join a PhD. program. Whats shocking is the dearth of such courses in the top 20 US universities. I'm thinking about applying to NYU, Duke, LSE, Oxford and Cambridge. Although I am sure of a rejection from Oxbridge.. and not very keen on NYU and Duke. That just leaves me with LSE. I'm not very sure of my chances there. My Background - Ugrad: Economics and Mechanical Engineering (double degree from a highly reputed Engineering college in my country) GPA: 7.8/10 Econ GPA: 8.9/10 RecoLetters: Two from Econ (average), One from Management prof (good) SOP: Haven't started writing yet (I know I need to hurry!) Research Interests: Behavioral and Experimental Economics Research work: Nothing published. One project on behavioral economics, undergrad thesis at Carnegie Mellon Univ (to be completed in my final semester) Experience: 6 months internship at the top economic policy research organization in my country I would be thankful to anyone willing to comment on my chances of getting through LSE
  14. You should consider the MA course at NYU. Although I have heard that its not the best stepping stone to a PhD. I too am looking for a one year course in economics before I pursue my PhD. My research interests: behavioral & experimental economics. Its sad to see that very few of the top 25 colleges in the US offer a stand alone MA or MSc in Economics. UK on the other hand has more options.
