I had my Yale interview on Wednesday and I was so nervous preparing for it that the only thing I felt after was relief. My first intinction was that it went quite well. But the more I think about it less confident I am. I think I rambled quite a bit and maybe didn't stop to think enough to give more coherent answers.

anyone know about the format of SAIC painting interviews? are we going to be looking at our submitted portfolio? There is not much information really?
-
Did you finally hear from Rutgers? I saw I was waitlisted on the portal and received an accompanying email a few days later.
-
hope you get yours too! hang tight, I think they are personally reaching out to every finalist.
-
Just received an interview invite from Cornell!

I feel the same way! It is good for the applicant and good for the school's reputation to send out rejections timely. When you are in limbo you spend your time fishing for information online, instead of planning for the interviews you might have. Stanford's application deadline was December 1. It's comical. Definitely won't apply again if I go through this a second time.
-
Ah nice! We still have a chance. Thanks for the info!
-
@Gaara Do you have any info on Cornell? 😬 Last one I am waiting to hear from
-
oh wow. I was expecting mid to late February. yeah.... I think safe to assume we are all rejected. Interesting no one here received anything. Thanks for the info!
-
Do you remember around what time they sent out invitations last year ? (UC Irvine and UCLA)
-
I just saw I was waitlisted from Rutgers. Wonder how long the list is lol.
-
anyone got any news from Cornell, UCI, UCLA painting?
-
I got a similar treatment from Stanford for one of my documents. I also still haven't heard from them even though the application deadline was December 1. Brutal. Did you hear back from Rutgers? I am trying to figure out whether this was intentional or not.
-
Still crickets from Rutgers? Should I reach out and clarify if there's been a technical error. I should have gotten either an interview or a rejection by now surely?
-
I'm in the same boat as you. Maybe we are waitlisted? or in application purgatory. But I imagine the rejected finalists make up the waitlist so this doesn't make any sense really.
-
to make sure their list is locked and loaded before they prematurely reject anyone I think? It's definitely not an applicant-centric approach. I am in the same boat as you with Stanford though I have to say I reached out to them a while back about a problem I had with my application and they never responded. Same thing with SAIC and they responded within a day.
-
same!! congratulations! again lol.
-
that's.... cruel to say the least. did your friend ever reach out?? I don't think they would do that on purpose. it must have been a tech issue? I applied maybe a week in advance so I don't think it's that.
-
I also haven't received anything from Yale. ahh what does this mean? don't they send out everything at the same time?
-
mine doesn't say that. on the website there were multiple slots with 30 minute intervals. are you applying for painting?
-
same! congratulations!

I also got rejected from Northwestern. had high hopes seeing how multiple people here were able to get interviews last year but oh well. did anyone apply to SAIC's painting program? I keep getting emails from them and also received a brochure a month back. trying not to read into it but was wondering if this email flow was standard for them.
-
did you see this on reddit?
-
just in case you should reach out to another professor and explain your situation to politely ask if they would write a LOR for you. my friend who's applying to a PHD program had this exact problem and his professor was kind enough to write a letter in one day. I don't know when the deadline for RISD is but if it's past 2 weeks already you should look into that option imo. If it's been a couple of days to a week, maybe wait a little bit longer. good luck!
-
hi good luck! I personally don't know any resources but having your friends/profs read it should do the trick?
