  1. haha yes, planning to learn some R over the summer!
  2. I have basically no quant background and I got into UW-M! I picked programmes that didn't need the GRE and emphasise mixed-method research. It's obviously had mixed results haha but I'm super excited about the program I got into. ETA: I do think it probably doesn't help with some programs though, but it doesn't make it impossible for sure. My subfield is American which is a quant heavy field You can also learn quant methods once you're in, which is what I intend to do!
  3. congrats!! I'm American subfield myself, really like the sound of the UW-M program
  4. Northwestern rejection, thank god I got into Wisconsin or i'd be losing my mind!
  5. Feels like more of them have come out in the afternoon/evening if that's any help!
  6. Fingers crossed!
  7. Pretty sure Pitt is usually mid feb
  8. I have the same hope about northwestern releasing decisions today
  9. Thanks! I got into Wisconsin so I'm pretty happy so far. Hoping you hear good news this week!!
  10. nope, mine still says that! via email
  11. Rejected from UIUC - not the best fit but never nice! congrats to those admitted
  12. Did you try the results page? Should show you if you put it into the advanced search
  13. You'll get a student discount once you're in though (assuming you're not currently a student!) so maybe worth waiting anyway?
  14. agreed, thank you for saying that! hoping everyone hears some good news this week!
  15. r/gradadmissions Most of the posts are science/CS related but there is some talk about the humanities/political science too

  17. I get that, but remember so is everyone else!
  18. oh okay! I'm sorry - I wasn't trying to be funny or anything? I hope you get in where you want to go! eta: I also think it's really valid for people to want to compare offers of funding, offers that often come a bit later! e.g. wisconsin funding details come late feb.
  19. I'm not making any decisions until I've seen funding, but I'd only *possibly* reject Wisconsin for Michigan (out of my personal list). It is also worth noting that not all programmes waitlist - e.g. I believe Wisconsin don't
  20. yeah, nothing! and they did say the remaining would be out this week. But it's only 4pm so fingers crossed for you!!
  21. not accepting UIUC at this point, but I'm surprised we haven't heard the remaining decisions yet?
  22. I don't believe so, all the results from previous years have been acceptances or rejections - the rejections usually a day or two later
  23. claiming wisconsin acceptance!!
  24. based on the results page, start of feb at the earliest incidentally, I'm so surprised we haven't heard from Wisconsin yet! holding out hope for the rest of today, currently my top choice
  25. oh wild, Wisconsin;s def wasn't the worst I saw at all haha
