Yeah, I definitely know the feeling. I'll tell you, Pitt obviously had so much of what the other top schools on my list had, but really it came down to how unbelievably accommodating they were. I could only visit the campus with like a two day notice over the weekend and the *cohort* mostly arranged my visit and set up my schedule with me. Not that the faculty weren't involved it was just that it was the weekend when I notified them and the MFA students were all over it. Most of the other visits I did, the 2nd and 3rd year MFA students felt like they were forced to be there lol. Not a big deal, totally get it, but everything at Pitt felt like the cohorts really wanted to help and meet everyone coming in. It was night and day, to be honest. But, you know, follow your gut and what gave you a good vibe. Zero FOMO that way, ya know.

Just wanted to let people know that I declined my offers from Ohio State and Iowa NWP. I truly hope some very good news be headed your way! Oh and I accepted the offer from Pitt 🥳 It's been a privilege 🫡 and thank you to all those who lent help and advice in my dms. Also, I'd totally pay it forward—if anyone needs an extra set of eyes on your CNF packet next year, or have questions, hit me up! I'll try pay back the good karma. Hahaha my bad! I just didn't want to inflate expectations for those who applied to the specific program, but Wyoming was the program which I was told by a current MFA student that was a bit lower than normal.

For those with waitlist/acceptances at THE Ohio State or Pitt, I'm going to visit Mon and Tues. If you're going, hit it up! And if you're not able to go, DM me if you have questions you want answered while I'm there and I will tirelessly secure you answers (also this will prevent me from standing around just nodding my head while I'm there, so consider it a favor to me lol)

I think some more of the University of Iowa results are going out. I just got a phone call and I'm in for NF! Now excuse me while I go try and calm my lungs with a mild amount of alcohol 😭

The email did come through this morning as an acceptance! And thanks for the congrats! Right now Ohio State is #1a and Pitt is #1b; and UNLV is my #2. But I got some good advice from a few friends currently in MFAs who said their list changed quite a bit once they visited and deeply consider all the aspects of each program, so they said don't get married to an acceptance until you really check it out. Better to wait and make sure it's right then rush and spend three years miserable in small town in Kentucky or something lol (no offense to Kentucky, I swear, Glendale rips). So I'm keeping my preferences very loose, you know. I'm just happy to be here lol

I had an interview with Pitt like two weeks ago (CNF) that went...just okay on my end lol But last night at 3am I got an email (because of course I was refreshing my mailbox) instructing me to make an account and that would be how the university would be "communicating regarding your application." I made an account but there's nothing there as far as I can tell. By chance anyone else receive the same email? I know it's not *bad* news, but maybe it's just one of those automated things for Pitt's system and I shouldn't read too much into it?

Oh, I see it. Thanks! I just missed it. Then I got in my head about it, thinking there was further hope, like they send out waitlists then pull acceptance from those or something weird...🤦 Been a long day of refreshing pages lol

Hmmm, there's like 12 University of Minnesota results on Draft over the past few days and they're all "Waitlist," no acceptances or rejections as far as I saw. Does anyone know if they process their apps a little differenyt and process waitlists first? Can't be a coincidence that only waitlists are on the Draft spreadsheet. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong? 🤔

Sorry I can't out the program; didn't intend to play with anyone's emotions 😬 so I apologize if I did that. Figured everything was already sent to the cosmos so it didn't matter much, but again, I'm sorry if I disturbed, good or bad, any zen we all try and achieve. Anyway, I did plan on hyping the school for next app cycle. As for the number of apps they usually expect, I was told, maybe two years back when I was first feeling things out, that high 400s-500s was often what they get.

I won't say which school, but I know of one fully funded program that got considerably less than 300 applications this year, which was low they said. Taking into account that possibly 15%-20% get rejected for technical/admin/genre reasons, seems like good odds for those who prepared and researched well. Can't say if that lower number of apps is something going on more broadly or not, but could be
